ruffgeezer
FOR SALE FOR £200 PLEASE READ BELOW! At the start of the week, a post on a local Facebook group for car sales had the comment "Is there a scrappy on here?" I watched the comments unfolded and once I spotted that it ran and it still had mot, I asked why scrap it... Turns out it occasionally puts the Engine light on and it's a Renault. It's a 2002 registered 1.9dci with the 6 speed box, the air con works and it came with enough history to choke a donkey. Other than it being a throughly undesirable French hatchback, it is the kind of car you dream of finding, the one where it still has the book of everything the previous owner had spent on it. Receipts for everything. It is a bit crap though. It has mot until the end of Jan and had both key cards, which if you put them on a key ring no longer fit in the slot. Parts required so far; Lh side repeater, wheel trim and key card holder. Heidel_Kakao, RobT, phil_lihp and 19 others

Bucketeer
I'm a convert to the 'all modern Renaults aren't shit' cause Tim. I've been using Moog's 250,000 mile Vel Satis and it's the nicest most reliableist car I've ever driven. You've got a barg and a half there, top work. Bren
They are like many of todays cars - dont be fussy just run it until it expires. Tom's PT cruiser is the same - dont get sucked into spending a fortune just run it until it does'nt run anymore.
I_am_Diesel
The missing wheel trim just adds to its charm. Top buy!
beko1987
Is it keyless entry and start? I don't bother with a keyring. I have the more shitty keycard with the broken lock button in my wallet, with the better card in the house for when this one breaks after being sat on repeatedly! Don't you need a special spazzy leather wallet for the non keyless cards? Or, Drexel out a keyring shaped slot in the card slot, job done!
ruffgeezer
Mine isn't a keyless entry one unfortunately. So it will need a special snazzy wallet for the cards. If I decide to keep it that long that is!

Or, Drexel out a keyring shaped slot in the card slot, job done!Never understood why there’s a hole in Laguna II keycards at the end that slides interested the card slot, Renault did these key rings which where like a clip that clipped around the end of the keycard which stuck out of the slot that a keyring could be put around, although they obviously realised their omission with the Megane and Scenic II keyring spaces. Guest Hooli
The slot is there because the car locks the card in while running. Nicola H

SiC
^^ that. Ph2 gained keyless entry and starting. I.e. you no-longer put the card in. I suspect they did this as a long winded fix, as pushing the buttons is what flexes and breaks the cards. Thoughtfully in this redesign of the card, they also put a keychain hole at the bottom. The card no longer got locked in the slot either. Later on, Renault did a new design key for the Kadjar. Inexplicably (well not really, they're a French automaker), they repeated the same mistake again:
ruffgeezer
Well I taxed it this morning, it's cheaper than the Volvo. The ride isn't as nice though, and thats in spite of it having receipts for the springs and shocks having been done in the past. Inside the trim is all there but it is one of those cars where every surface has a thin film of sticky residue, it's utterly grim. I braved the sunroof test and that seems ok, as does the central locking. The self cancelling indicatiors don't, and there is a slight vibration from the engine at low speeds. All in all reasonably reasonable. DeeJay
Guest Hooli
Now clean the sunroof drains under the wheel arches before the UCH gets wet & it all dies. beko1987
ruffgeezer
OK so I cleaned the sunroof drains, replaced the horn and adjusted the indicator switch so it self cancels most of the time. However since I apparently just can't say no at the moment, I have a Mondeo and a Mazda 3 inbound. Does anyone want this for £200? Nsf window doesnt work, needs the tracking doing and occasionally (as in once in the last 1000 miles!) it goes into limp mode. Has both keys and a lot of history inclusive of the cambelt. Guest Hooli
Window will be the cable snapped on the mech. Easy enough to change the whole thing out. I think someone on here got the part for £25 2nd hand.
ruffgeezer
Yes it certainly sounds chewy inside the door when you press the switch. Would there be any interest in a low rent raffle? richardthestag

puntopaul
Just having sold my Goona Sports Tourer DCi, I do have a spare pair of the missing side repeaters around somewhere with bulb holders. And a book of lies ( Haynes Manual ) as long as someone pays the postage costs they are free. As I'll never buy another Renault of any description, so if you buy/ win this on a roffle feel free to message me and I'll happy pass these on!! Just PM me your postal details, and if you can sort me out the postage via paypal etc.. I'll gladly send them out! Can't imagine it'd be much, I'm sure the Laguna manual may find a home, for another goona owner.

ruffgeezer
The Laguna spec is as follows; 111k 1.9dciMot 31 Jan 2018It has a large folder of older history, this includes all the springs and shocks and the cambelt. The Aircon works and it has both key cards. It is missing a wheel trim, and it does need the wheel alignment doing.
