Do any of you Tractor pervs know how easy it will be to retain the number plate on this??

It's a Kendall 3 wheeler made in Grantham, Lincolnshire. The number is a 1947 issue, so ties in with the period they were built and DO is a South Lincolnshire identifier.

There is no V5 that I am aware of and the number isn't coming up on any online checks that I know of...

It would be a shame to lose it...

Very poor picture...

Did Lincolnshire keep their old records when the DVLA took over? Some counties did, otherwise you need something to tie the plate to the vehicle, receipts old tax discs bluff logbook etc.

Thanks, I'll help them look for any bits and pieces and find out where they could be. If nothing available, I'll make some enquiries with the appropriate council...

The little blue Leyland was collected by its new owner on Monday...my mate has been clearing the shed out where it lived ready for his latest acquisition which should be delivered in the next week or two...

I'm pretty certain it won't physically fit in there so I can see it living in my yard but it'll be handy for nipping to the chippy in at lunch time... :-)

There was a farmer lived near me who died about 10 years ago; his two modes of transport were a Honda 50 ridden with bicycle clips and a flat cap and the doppelgänger of the Ford above

He always took the tractor on heavier drinking sessions for safety reasons :)

My step-mother has just got a tractor. It belonged to her father, who recently died. The tractor has been sat in a barn for many years...

It's a 1947 Ferguson TE20 with a Continental Z120 engine. It's had an aftermarket TVO conversion as I'm sure the Continental was only available from the factory as a petrol. It's also got a V5 and is on the system which is handy.

Everything works and moves, except the engine. We've had it in gear and gently rocked it back and forth, but no joy. The plan is to put some diesel down the bores and leave it for a bit...

We were out in ToMM© the other weekend and passed thru Wolsingham. There was a show over the weekend and as we drove out, to Crook, we were stuck behind two old tractors.

They were doing about 15MPH and not passable, given twists in road, and held up a $hitload of traffic... Is it not so that 'S..L..O..W' farm shite must heave over to allow the tail to shoot by??

attachicon.gifKendall.jpg

Had some good news on this!!

There is no V5 or any documentation with this and it is also now in the safe hands of my step-brother...

I got in touch with the county archives in Lincoln and established that they had what was required, to try and get the number back on the system.

So after a few weeks, they sent me copies of the registration ledger (Date booked/supplying agent/registered owner/address/make of vehicle/(hp,cc,uw,etc)/date registered) for the numbers BDO121C through to BDO 150C from 1965...and a copy of the transfer docket for BDO 149C (a Triumph Herald) from Holland County Council to Warwickshire County Council in February 1970...

Right documents, but wrong vehicle and year...

A phone call on Monday had the correct 1947 documents in the post and they are spot on.

I have a copy of the registration ledger for BDO121 to BDO150. BDO 149 is in there as a 'Kendall' and there is the supplying agent and the first owner too. There is also a copy of the docket stating. 'This vehicle has been   BROKEN UP    EXPORTED   NOT LICENSED FOR THREE YEARS

                                                                    Registration book         SURRENDERED        NOT SURRENDERED

                                                                    (Delete lines as necessary)

Papers will be destroyed on receipt of Home Council's acknowledgement by

                                                                    Stamped     Holland C.C. 13 Feb 70

On the other side of the docket the following has been written where required - the reg number, the make (Kendall), chassis number, date of first registration, last licence expiry (31/12/59) and the name and address of the last known owner...

All this for £9.97 inc. postage. Over the moon with it, as it is exactly what we need - the copies are all stamped and certified as being from the Lincolnshire archives. :):)

As for the Fergie, the bores have been soaking with diesel, will be about four weeks now..

I thought I'd better post some pictures I took a couple of weeks ago. It was a ploughing match, not far from me, at a place called Worlaby Top. I was only there for about an hour. TBH, the ploughing aspect doesn't interest me, but the tractors do...

Apologies for the scuzzy pics, phone's acting up...

Couple of County 6x6's if I'm right? The one in front with the paint, is the one that was doing sterling service on the Queensferry Crossing build. Can't remember if I posted that pic!
