Bren
Had the vectra to a guy on the wirral today in relation to its various faults. The car had mutiple issues, lack of boost, cylinder misfire, the causes of which have actually been identified. In true vectra fashion though, the front brakes began grinding on the return journey. I was quite surprised by the amount of equipment he had - all specialist, and expensive. He explained that he regularly had to go on courses to make sure he was up to date as modern cars were changing all the time. The vectras lack of boost was caused by a number of fractures in the rigid pipe that attaches to the throttle body - obviously where they could'nt be seen without removal ( taking anything off is a 'mare) it was temporarily repaired but I will need a new pipe - he said it still was'nt boosting how it should but that could be down to the temporary repair and the dpf needing a regen. The injector misfire was the electrical connector - when he probed the plug the car misfired so it will need to monitored. The MOT is up in November - it the car behaves then it may get a stay of execution. If it does'nt I will move it on.
SiC
Are the injector connectors anything like the 1.9ctdi lump? If so, number 3 is prone to failing - weirdly always that one. Suspected dirt sucking through. Anyway if it is the same connectors, genuine replacement connector and loom can be had from Vauxhall for around £20. Bren
I was looking for some stuff called contralube which is good for electrical connectors however it appears to be rarer than unicorn piss.

Sheefag
This'll do the same trick - wear rubber gloves when handling it though as it can be an irritant. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Dielectric-Grease-for-contacts-and-connectors-/380370452070 Or Servisol. Servisol make great products, I've used their switchcleaner since the 70s. https://www.maplin.co.uk/p/servisol-multi-purpose-silicone-grease-50g-tube-re90x
SiC
Won't help much if the contacts have loosened up and work hardened though.
