Alright then shite fans, time for me to clear some space in my parents' loft and get shot of my carefully-assembled model collection from a quarter of a century ago. These have all been "cherished" in the sense that 12 year-old me would take them out the boxes, display them, occasionally dismantle/reassemble them, take the racing stickers off some of them, respray a few of them, add number plates to them, but leave most of them alone and return them to the boxes.

I'm not mad keen on simpy lobbing all of these on Ebay therefore am open to offers on any of the following. See something you like, speak up! As a guide, the going rate for the BBurago 1-24 scale that make up most of the collection seems to be in the region of a tenner each, the 1-18 scale a bit more, the 1-43 a bit less. Bulk discount will be available! Postage is from Jersey so not the same rates as Royal Mail, I need to check out the approx cost as a small parcel seems to be considerably more.

A small portion of the 1-24 stuff first. Some of these are photos cribbed from the Internet on account of not having dug everything out yet. Will probably retrieve the rest at the weekend.

Both ^^^ I have privated you a message with numbers in them.

Tonight's instalment is a mixture of 1-24 and 1-43, let's start with the smaller stuff.

Lamborghini Countach

I was an absolute sod for Fiats in the late eighties, this was a result of dad chopping in his eight year old Renner 14 for a youthful Uno, didnt last as I've never owned any 1-1 scale examples, though had his Punto on loan for a while a few years back.

Porsche 959, "Miami Vice" Testarossa

The 959 originally came with racing stickers.  I peeled them off and stuck them on the polystyrene box inner - forgot about that until I opened it up yesterday.

Lancia Delta, Fiat Panda (PANDA SOLD MAY 2019)

I wanted one of these Delta S4 models for ages, nobody local had one in stock so I was stoked to finally find one on a trip to Scotland, I Royal Mailed it back down south rather than take it on the plane, which was a stupid idea as the box got flattened.  Kept hold of it though.  A mate treated my Panda to its slightly bizarre Mountain Biking UK makeover when he was bored one summer.

Volvo 700 saloon

How about this Polistil Volvo 700 then. I gave it wheeltrims off a Bburago Porsche 959!  3/10/17 VOLVO SALOON SOLD

post-132-0-32838700-1504901842_thumb.jpg

BMUU Z1 kit (built)

Moving on to some kit shite.  Unfortunately I wasnt very good at building these.  I let a friend at school do the Z1, he made a reasonable job of it though a mirror and one of the headlamp covers are MIA.  Various bits have fallen off the Escort (but there's still some alternative bodykit bits and unused RS 7 spoke wheels in the box!) and the Audi is a Fujimi model from Japan though I melted one of the wheels by using too much adhesive when I cracked the hub fitting on it.  Are these slightly crappily-assembled plastic jobs worth any more than a cold cup of piss?

post-132-0-54476400-1504902122_thumb.jpg

Williams F1

Finally a Nigel Mansell-era Williams, note the "Formula 1 Dad" packaging.  I bought this in the absence of anything better to give Dad one Father's Day.  He's not really into motor racing.

Williams SOLD May 2019

Again, if owning any of the above would massively improve your quality of life, feel free to propose a quantity of pound notes!

They're not as rare as I thought they would be, in terms of there's a few new old-stock kits currently available on everybody's favourite online tat-disposal auctions website.  I did briefly think about doing a "late 1990s scrapyard" diorama thing with it and some of the other more mundane stuff, but time and severe cant-be-arsedness made me reconsider.  Plus I've nowhere to put such a creation and the cat would probably eat bits of it.  Maybe someone can tell me how to 3D print stuff and I'll be able to magic up a new "alloy" so that it's back on all four wheels?

I'm interested in the three wheeled Audi - I used to own a similar 1:1 model (although mine had four wheels) and would like to try and recreate. I'm also planning some sort of VAG workshop diorama (mainly because I've got a Mk2 Golf and a Mk3 Golf with crappy paint and bits falling off). Would certainly pay more than some cold piss for it.

If you can wait until 22nd September (pay day) then I'll take the Volvo as well, I've got the estate so might as well get this one too.

The XR2i is a great model to have. Mine is similarly mint and boxed but someone (looks like a dealer sticker) has applied 2 large ford ovals on the bonnet and roof.

PM sent to all who have enquired.

More tonight, apologies for shite camera phone photos in imperfectly-lit attic room:-

Boxed 1-24 Bburago stuff. Delta S4, two Unos, Tipo, Land Rover 109, Punto, 911, 190E, 300 SL Gullwing, 308GTB, Alfa 75, 959. I resprayed the red Uno about 20 years ago and also the Tipo (Ford Olympic Gold) - check out the colour match on the doors!

Edit - MERC 190E, RED UNO, LAND ROVER ALL SOLD

More 1-24, the orange Renner 14 is another respray, originally the green Servizio Corse model with roof-mounted bicycles. Fuck knows where they've been for the last 35 years. Also the doors which have been missing in action for more than half that time after taking them off to repaint. Probably somewhere at my parents' place - they'll no doubt turn up when least expected.

Edit REGATA, BOTH R14s AND RENNER 4 "PONY" SOLD, ESCORT COSWORTH, 2CV AND BEETLE CONVERTIBLE ALSO SOLD

There's also some Corgi/Matchbox Superkings stuff, I'll pull out the others in due course. Plus a Vullierme AX that I bought direct from the local dealer back in 1992 - this is a bit of a monster at 1-12 scale, the 1-43 Ferrari gives some context!

Evening all, those who replied here and by PM, I will get back to you all individually after my little boy is bathed and asleep. The big AX in particular has generated quite a bit of interest!

Fordperv, thanks for asking about the Sapphire, I think that's about it for the Bburago stuff other than an Italia 90 F40 keyring, but your question reminded me that I bought a Corgi "Spender" Cosworth in pieces:

I was going to cut n shut it with this mk1 to create a replica of the 1-1 scale mk2 Ghia I owned at the time:

  • 4 weeks later...

Thank you to everyone who has enquired so far - a couple of you have PM, please check your messages. I've been having another rake through the boxes of hoarded-away goodies:-

A couple more boxed Matchbox Superkings. The E28 has a "light up" sign on the boot that goes red when you push it along (actually a rotating barrel rather than anything electronic). The Roadrunner's tilt-and-slide bed works when you repeatedly pump the fuel tank, bizarrely.
