Cavcraft
1998 Rover 211i 3 doorRip-roaring 1120cc engine and 5 speed boxAlmost the perfect mingebag spec, I think metalllic paint is probably the only 'extra'Two recent tyresMOT 26th October 2017Taxed to get you homeLast MOT advisories were: Offside Suspension component mounting prescribed area is corroded but not considered excessive rear end of outer/inner sill (2.4.A.3)Nearside Front Shock absorber has a light misting of oil (2.7.3)Offside Front Shock absorber has a light misting of oil (2.7.3)89,000 miles, drove great coming home (about 12 miles, I think) and felt quite 'solid' on the road. A good amount of surface rust on the upper body work, but I haven't yet seen anything too concerning, i.e actually rotted out/holed. I'm sure there are other faults and haven't removed the seat covers yet to see what's underneath. When we got to the car there wasn't much water in it and a 2 litre bottle was in the boot. We couldn't spot any signs of HGF and it drove great with no worries on the temp gauge. The water level had remained the same when we got home, too.Generally, it's obviously not a show winner but it's not crusher fodder imho, and according to HML there are only 318 left, or something like that. Obvs. like I'll try and test drive it again in the next couple of days and report back anything I find. Would stick this in my 'field of dreams' but have other plans, so could do with selling it. Does £160 sound ok? I could roffle it I suppose, but a straight sale would be preferable. Don't especially want this to go to someone who doesn't appreciate it (ha!) for what it is, as it's sort of 'Roadwars' fodder being 'cheap' with some MOT left, and it deserves better than being hammered round over speed bumps shredding wheel trims, before grinding to an uninsured halt from the stinger. Delivery within about 15-20 miles quite possible, other than that collection from Chester. Brodders, oldcars, clayts450 and 8 others

wuvvum
I always carry water with me when I'm driving anything kettle-powered, just as a precaution. Having said that, the 1.1 seems to have been fairly robust in the Metro, although obviously it'll be working a bit harder in an R3. Did the 211 get PAS? Dirk Diggler
1.1s were common here; don't drive anywhere near as bad as you'd think 1.4 s with PAS are obviously rocket ships for the decadent clayts450 and Eddie Honda

Jams
It's worth buying due to the no sunroof tbh!! Terrible design and one of the down falls with this vintage rover! 160 is a bargain Cavcraft

rantingYoof
This has 59hp so you're actually paying less than 3 quid per horsepower. Which makes this an unmissable bargain really.
