Mot November
V5 present
Dent in bonnet but otherwise bodywork is presentable.
Car has been sat for a few months with intermittent starting issues but having recently charged the battery and wiggled the fuses and relays and the car seems to be starting OK.
Would prefer to swap for something older or why?

And here's a short video of me driving it around the yard.

have you tried cleaning the sensor just above the flywheel ,right hand side of engine sort of level with the head , they are known for getting dirty , done a few of those that were poor starters ...

these cars are abuse proof , seen one do thousands on old oil after being stood for years , it was like tar !! , then went on to do some 30000 on a oil change , and is years/miles over due for a cam belt ,it just keeps going

the perfect student/tight arse car !

These are tough little buggers.  It was a Clio of this generation (02 plate, in fact) that put me off work for nearly six months in 2003 by driving up the backside of my Orion and writing it off.  The Clio carried on about its business (after exchanging details) and was repaired, which didn't take much.  My car was so deformed you couldn't open the OSR door.

Cowdenbeath, Fife

I've had it started and driven it around the yard but can't guarantee it will continue to run, it would probably be best to tax and insure it then get the AA to tow you home.

Unfortunately too far for me to go to buy something to just use up an insurance policy for a couple of months. If it was something special maybe, but the travel costs from Bristol to Fife would be more than me just buying an equally buggered one down here. Not like this world isn't full of broken Renault's!

After cleaning the crank sensor it seems to be running fine, I've driven it up and down the road a few times and there's been no signs of it wanting to cut out or anything. I would still like to swap it for something if anyone fancies it?

I've shown this to a family member and he's keen. He's just wondering if there's anything that will stop him insuring it and then driving it away. Bald tyres, etc. Just so he can be prepared.

As far as I'm aware tyres are OK. The brakes might need looking at but they do work, I think with it sitting for months the discs have started to rust and they need to be used regularly to improve them.

Come and have a look tonight and see what you think.

Is it suitable for driving 300+ miles then moaning about because it's OMGNOTFITFORPURPOSE? ;-)

In seriousness, looks like a decent little runner for fuck all money, surely you could shift it to a gumtreemong for £300

I would have thought so but there are so many better and cheaper cars out there that it's a difficult market to sell to.

A local scrapyard will give me £100 for it so whoever buys it from here could potentially have a usable car for a couple of months for £30 and get the £100 back when weighing it in.
