Right. Two more BXs for sale. First up is my tricked-out green TZD turbo

For recommissioning. No MoT. I have owned this car for a year or so, in which time I have done absolutely nothing with it and, realistically, I never will. This is a well-known car in the BX club and has been upgraded with virtually every conceivable option including air con, tinted windows, sunroof wind deflector, GTi interior, door handle guards (one has gone missing) etc etc. Hopefully somebody can give it the attention it needs to return to the road.

Body:

Pretty straight and complete, paint faded on bonnet and a shallow dent on the o/s rear door/wing but otherwise tidy and presentable. There has been some welding done in the past to the back of the sill and boot floor, looks to be of a good standard. The driver’s A-pillar is just starting to go in the usual place. One rear door shut has gone, but the other is fine. Both inner front wings are coming through and need to be sorted. I haven’t investigated fully, but it seems pretty solid overall and well worth doing.

Interior:

Seats have been replaced by GTi items (I think) and a GTi dash fitted. All in excellent condition with no issues. One electric window switch missing. The glovebox has been removed to trace electrical issues but is with the car. No idea on the veracity of the gauges and dials as I’ve only ever driven it round the block.

Mechanics:

The previous owner of the car told me it was taken off the road after a head gasket failure, repaired but never quite finished. It does run and drive, but not well. One injector is leaking and I suspect air in the fuel system – it won’t idle properly. There are various coolant and LHM leaks – nothing has been investigated by me so I can’t comment, but expect a fair bit of work to get it back up to scratch. Brakes will obviously need looking at, but they do work. The suspension rises and falls without issue but, again, expect some remedial work at least. It does come with all four Speedline alloys but the tyres are all toast. They would benefit from a refurb but are presentable enough.

Overall, a pretty decent car that could be put back on the road without huge expense. It’s scruffy round the edges and has obviously been sat for some time, but it is definitely not too far gone. It would be a shame to break it for parts, but if that’s what you want it for the parts value far exceeds the asking price.I do not have a V5C or any paperwork – I never bothered to apply for it as I have never done anything with the car.

£200

Next is my much-loved silver TXD. A genuinely reluctant sale. This was my first BX and my favourite car I have owned. It is very scruffy on the outside, which never bothered me, very tidy on the inside but sadly it has terminal rot on the rear suspension mounts and would require heroic welding for it to return it to the road.

On the plus side, it has the strongest, quickest and smoothest XUD I have experienced. Before it was taken off the road it was an absolutely superb drive, the suspension and mechanics are all perfect and it is quite simply the nicest car I have ever driven.I spent a lot of money on keeping it in fine fettle, shortly before it was taken off the road it had some new genuine radiator hoses (unobtainable), lots of work on the brakes (at a cost of almost £800), most of the front end HP system replaced or renewed (including new FDV). The Michelin tyres on the back are nearly new. I did around 30,000 miles in it and it never let me down.

The seats, inexplicably, are more comfortable than any other TXD/TZD seats and are in excellent condition.I think it is, sadly, too rusty to go back on the road, but it will make an excellent engine donor/parts car for a mechanically tired but rust-free BX.

£100.

Ideally, you should buy both and use the silver car as a donor for the green car. If you want that we can work something out on the price and I'll throw in all my other Mk2 BX spares including panels, trim parts, looms etc etc etc

Long out of the game with these, but there was a time those Speedlines and the TZD engine would be worth more than you're asking price alone. It'd be a shame to break it as you said, but the engine would be mintola in a 205 or Berlingo.

Would like the silver one to help the AS BX in continuing its unequal struggle to stay alive, but getting it from Brighton to West Yorks might be tricky...

:(  Bad timing.  I would really like another BX in my life and these were in my price range a couple of months ago.  I just have too much other stuff on to help rehome these now, sadly, even were the funds available.  GLWTS

Strangeangel - prebook mot and drive it back? It would do it, if you took it easy and keep in mind the rear suspension is only moderately attached

Bumpy bollocks. Had one viewing tonight but I'm not hopeful it will come to anything (chap doesn't have the £300 but is expecting to pay somebody else to get them on the road??).

Might have to hit ebay next week, sadly, which obviously I would rather avoid

Both of these sold on ebay today, but as the first contact with one buyer was him asking "where r u" I'm not hugely confident it's gonna happen. Other chap seems vaguely more sensible. So, one of these might still be available. Can't remember which. Just bear that in mind, cheers
