Spottedlaurel
Great pics once again!Seconded, marvellous to see what you still have out there. Though the bowling club shot reveals there's a lot of similar stuff too.We didn't get that Corolla hatch as a 5dr. Did Holden rebadge that one in Australia, or was it only the following more rounded model? Presumably 'yours' is a Toyota though?
Electric Leyland
Then on the road past Horopito wreckers( aka Smash Palace) Got home last night, opened my Rust In Peace post from Practical Classics. Enclosed was 2 hefty sets of photos sent in by a couple of regulars. And this NZ location was one of the sets! Recognised it just now from the Chevette and Viva HA van pic, except no snow on the ones I've got. Small world. Unless Stuno your real name is Eric Lomax and you're on holiday over there... STUNO
Some answers..I live in the small city of Rotorua pop 60,000The trip yesterday was Rotorua,Taupo,Turangi,National Park,Horopito to my destination Ohakune where I saw the steam loco.A bit of searching and the Loco is a WAB class built 1927 in Dunedin. built for power not speed hence the small driving wheels.Get out your google earth and follow the route :)And to s/l we didn't get the Holden Toyotas here so I know nothing of them. The nearest we ever got to a Japanese Holden was in the 80's when the Commodore was fitted with Nissan 2 and 3 litre straight sixes.I drove a Company 2L and liked it!
