Ghosty
It's time to sell the Rover. 1.6 pez auto, 58650 miles, 1 years' MOT, no real issues. Picture time: As most of you will know this has been my only car since January, and the arrival of my 740 (which I much prefer driving) means I have no need for this any more. After my adventure* picking it up from the West Midlands where it HGF'd ( http://autoshite.com/topic/26915-after-three-years-216sli-252-behaving-itself ), all the engine consumables and renewables were replaced, at about 55200 miles. This includes but might not be limited to: head gasket PAS belt fanbelt coolant oil brake fluid spark plugs various seals and gaskets lambda sensor After this full recommissioning it got new Hankook tyres all round. The spare is a decent brand winter tyre, possibly a Michelin, need to check.ATF was changed recently, less than 1000 miles ago.Clean inside, original radio, electric mirrors and front windows. Everything works apart from the rear driver's door - this doesn't work on the central locking, also the window winder handle isn't attached as the spring clip made a bid for freedom and I never managed to find another. It still works without it, but the handle doesn't stay on so it's in the map pocket for if/when you ever need it.Bodywork is OKish. Paint on the roof is knackered and there are a couple of scratches here and there. It's had a front end bump at some point as it's not all perfectly aligned (see driver's door shutline), but it's presentable enough. You also get the air horn! If you don't want that and would rather the original, let me know and I'll include it.It had some patches of welding on the driver's sill and the arch treated and filled to pass the MOT.It's pretty fun to drive and reasonably nippy, not the best motorway car ever but it can do almost anything you want of it - it'll just about carry a fully assembled bike with the rear seats folded down. It's on eBay for £500 classified with an aim of a price beginning with a 4. DVee8, oldcars, worldofceri and 5 others
Ghosty
A guy enquired from eBay locally - first enquirer at all.Shows up in his wife's Tiguan, said he was an engineer and liked tinkering, his last car was a Proton, and his dad had had a 214SLi and a 218SLD. Looks over it, test drives it, offers £400 if I include my spare odds and sods. I'm fine with that so I have a £40 deposit down, and it's going tomorrow. The neighbours all seem happy there's one less car clogging up the road too, especially knobhead M3 man that doesn't understand parking.Painless! KruJoe
Me and Vulg were just talking about this today as we were playing Rovers. Glad it's found a good home Max, and so effortlessly too.
