Tayne
Today I went to a car show, I was joined by SoupOrNowt and a couple of the lurkers of this parish.Given the show organisers have a helpful and up-to-the-minute website ( www.gvrs.net ) we decided to indulge in judging our car classes. The most Autoshite Car Present was won by this 23k mile Skoda Favorit, it looked like to had just left the showroom.Skoda Favorit par Tayne, on ipernityMost Brown Car went to this triple brown Escort.Ford Escort mk2 4-door par Tayne, on ipernityDSC 0637 par Tayne, on ipernitySpecial mention to this pair.Mini & Triumph par Tayne, on ipernityBest use of Bodyfiller went to this Austin.DSC 0400 par Tayne, on ipernityOwner Who Looks Most Like a Geography Teacher was going to go to this chap on the left, but then we found out he was a judge.DSC 0382 par Tayne, on ipernitySo the award was scooped by this fella, who would talk to anyone about his car but hadn't bothered to wipe the birdshit off the bonnet.DSC 0428 par Tayne, on ipernityBest Roof went to this homebuilt car.DSC 0635 par Tayne, on ipernityThough they did lose points for mismatched camping chairs.Worst Brakes went to another little kit car (drums on the front!!)DSC 0534 par Tayne, on ipernityThough they had done well with the chairs.Rustiest Car of the Show was taken by this 1947 Sunbeam TalbotDSC 0507 par Tayne, on ipernityDSC 0585 par Tayne, on ipernityDSC 0589 par Tayne, on ipernityDSC 0587 par Tayne, on ipernityDSC 0586 par Tayne, on ipernityIt had been brought along by the Cornfield Classic Car Collection (We are Cornfield Cars - oh yes, we are, Cornfield Cars) who won the Too Savvy WTF Award.DSC 0508 par Tayne, on ipernityDSC 0506 par Tayne, on ipernityDSC 0488 par Tayne, on ipernityDSC 0489 par Tayne, on ipernityDSC 0496 par Tayne, on ipernityDSC 0494 par Tayne, on ipernityDSC 0502 copy par Tayne, on ipernityDSC 0501 par Tayne, on ipernityYes, they had lots of random signage.Yes, they were wearing matching shirts.Yes, they brought a 2016 Audi A3.No, I don't know either. The Spandau Ballet Award went to they lovely mk 2 Jag (been in the owner's family since 1980).DSC 0591 par Tayne, on ipernityDSC 0608 par Tayne, on ipernityDSC 0450 par Tayne, on ipernityHonourable mention to this Mercedes SL.Mercedes SL par Tayne, on ipernityStandout cars of the show for us four were theseAvis Speed 20SC Vanden Plas 1934 par Tayne, on ipernityAvis Speed 20SC Vanden Plas 1934 par Tayne, on ipernityFord Model A par Tayne, on ipernityDaimler Dart par Tayne, on ipernityAuto Union par Tayne, on ipernityAlvis par Tayne, on ipernityDSC 0660 par Tayne, on ipernity robinmasters, rantingYoof, mercrocker and 17 others
STUNO
A lovely sat to my day thankyou Tayne. But you were wrong with the Geography teacher. He should have won the retired spiv award, with special mention for dodgy car dealing. Even the Riley suits that profession. And maybe the Sunbeam Talbot could have also taken the filler award, it seems to have been built from the stuff! Lacquer Peel

Eno
I got ruined by sunburn but it was worth it for Cornfield and their white A3 S line diesel. Very rare to see a white one in S line spec on a private plate in Aberdeenshire... Their signage was spectacular. The board in front of the 75 estate had information about 4 cars that weren't there and an advert selling a 2003 Impreza rear door with no details of colour, price or handing. rantingYoof, mk2_craig and oldcars
richardthestag
what an awesome mouth watering, trouser bulging collection two things here though are my absolute pet hates 1. red tape keeping the riff raff away from the cars and also spoiling the opportunity to get a nice pic2. fucking sandwich boards right in front of the car for exactly the same reason, I have a sheet of paper telling everything stuck to a side window and am often available for a chat should someone wish to discuss with me that "all stags overheat donchano!" Isnt that drum brake special a 50s kit based around a pop or something? looks a bit flat heady so drum brakes are probably more than up to the job. edited to add but with twin carbs! oh well in t'words of E Ferrari esq. Supernaut
I was right. I said Tayne would take more, and better, pictures than I would. I am envious of your 10mm lens though, and the ability it grants you to walk right up to a car, then still get the whole car and half the show ground in shot. I'll research 10mm lenses for my Canon but I'm worried about the cost! All in all, a grand way to spend a morning / half of an afternoon.

mk2_craig
That Royale!! Lovely to see a good selection of Scottish-registered old landfill there.
