Today I went to a car show, I was joined by SoupOrNowt and a couple of the lurkers of this parish.
Given the show organisers have a helpful and up-to-the-minute website ( www.gvrs.net ) we decided to indulge in judging our car classes.

The most Autoshite Car Present was won by this 23k mile Skoda Favorit, it looked like to had just left the showroom.

A lovely sat to my day thankyou Tayne. But you were wrong with the Geography teacher. He should have won the retired spiv award, with special mention for dodgy car dealing. I got ruined by sunburn but it was worth it for Cornfield and their white A3 S line diesel. Very rare to see a white one in S line spec on a private plate in Aberdeenshire... Their signage was spectacular. The board in front of the 75 estate had information about 4 cars that weren't there and an advert selling a 2003 Impreza rear door with no details of colour, price or handing.

two things here though are my absolute pet hates

 

1. red tape keeping the riff raff away from the cars and also spoiling the opportunity to get a nice pic

2. fucking sandwich boards right in front of the car for exactly the same reason, 

 

I have a sheet of paper telling everything stuck to a side window and am often available for a chat should someone wish to discuss with me that "all stags overheat donchano!" 

 

Isnt that drum brake special a 50s kit based around a pop or something? looks a bit flat heady so drum brakes are probably more than up to the job. 

 

edited to add but with twin carbs! oh well in t'words of E Ferrari esq. "my cars are designed to GO, not STOP . . ."

I am envious of your 10mm lens though, and the ability it grants you to walk right up to a car, then still get the whole car and half the show ground in shot. I'll research 10mm lenses for my Canon but I'm worried about the cost!

 

All in all, a grand way to spend a morning / half of an afternoon.

They seemed utterly mental, and we couldn't really make head nor tails of them. Thus, we awarded them the TooSavvy award. We don't know WTF the award is, but that's the TooSavvy way!

It's a Greeves trialler of some kind; they were the only company who made cast alloy frames like that.
