retrogeezer
Why would you drag a 1982 Audi 80 all the way to the states?? Must have been owned by a US serviceman with free transport!
Ross_K
The 280E is his too. He's got a RHD Saab 99 and a Merc 450SLC for sale too. It's weird - you'd think right-hookers would be as welcome as a fart in a spacesuit in the states, unless you're a postman of course
fordpoplier
Maybe he's only got one arm or something, that's about the only reason I could think of......but that raises an interesying point. Where do US postal vans go when they die? They are pretty shite when they are new.
Richard
A lot of US postal vans have hideous RHD conversions so they are easier to sell on. I think American post vans are like our buses though, they just get moved to less and less prestigious routes as they age.

mouseflakes
Not sure if this link will work or not (or if it does, for how long), but there's a Peugeot 505 Family 2.5 D (non-turbo these I think - a little slug-like perhaps?). Near to me, with test, for £250. Bwahahaha-gain!Reg Bolleaux - is this the same donk as in your 504 pickup? Just how leisurely are they?

It belongs to a friend of mine and the winner is a zero rated user who is supposedly going to travel from Northern Ireland to Fife to collect a £155 BMW. wuvvum
Yup, they are GM engines. Hence timing belt and head gasket problems (viz. Vauxhall Omega and early Vectra). Autoboxes are shit too, but this one's a manual so not an issue. They are not an unpleasant thing to drive but, as Fiatdaft says, they're hardly exciting. And, IMHO at least, they are fugly. Cheap for what they are though. I had a top-of-the-line Leganza CDX before Christmas and it was quite a pleasant machine - didn't have any outstanding points but as comfortable, quiet, modern, efficient transport it was bloody good for the £180-odd I gave for it. I imagine a Nubira would be quite similar, albeit with fewer gadgets.

Mr_Bo11ox
think we've had this before? But, at £100 with 4 hours left it seems like a good buy. Check the ad: Minor rust - all cometic as i can see (not structural), though god knows what an MOT guy will fail you on today. Would be extremely easy to sort out, if they kick up a fuss.Eh? Exhaust had rusted and has 'now been fixed' with a home made replacement, using high heat resistant rubber tubing as you can see in pic. Just thought you should know.Yeah cheers i'll be glad to know about that when it catches fire on the motorway. 'Suspect' clutch is going! But it hasn't. Replacement would be around £90. OR from a scrape dealer - £20 maybe?? I am in no doubt that these prices are based on facts and not just figures plucked straight out the air. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1982-RENAULT-5-TL-GREEN_W0QQitemZ140197270724 To be fair it still looks like a good buy at £100, despite the utter bollox coming from the seller.
