REKORD

..Full MOT, low miles, one owner.. one for the Doctor perhaps? I expect a few crusty bits to be honest.

I had one like that for a few months in 1993, it was to oil what Johnny Thunders was to heroin. Two trips from Leeds to Huddersfield and the warning light would be on. The autobox screamed if you took off too quick and it would start in 'Drive', which was nice... when I got it the thing came with a massive screwdriver. The previous owner told me not to lose it as I'd need it for three things:

1) getting the tape out of the stereo as the eject button had snapped off

2) getting the sunroof back out of the roof if I was unwise enough to open it

3) shorting the defective solenoid to start it on the days when it didn't feel like working

I got rid of it when it started making a camshaft-related death rattle, the new owner swore he was going to put a different engine in, but the DVLA check I just did suggests he didn't. Shame really, it was nice when it was working.

One of these sexy beasts lives in my area.

If it was mine I would spend all day driving around at 25mph playing the theme tune to "Assault on Precinct 13" occasionally poking a piece of black pipe out of the window.

I can't believe that this is a 1995 vehicle, The styling looks much older than that.

Japanese Luxury cars often had long production runs. I had this Mitsubishi Debonair for a while and that X reg plate is right... it was a 1982 car despite it's looks. I think this model came out in 1964 and was sold to about 1986.

Because it was very rusty and I was up to my ears in projects. I gave it to a fellow who'd gone on about how he'd love to restore it and how cool it was. Later it turned out he'd sold it to a dulux wielding mong who ripped out the beautiful interior and smashed it to shit. Well done

And a very late model 'scrote as well. Think these late ones were meant to be pretty well screwed togther.

Ones built from circa spring 2000 until the end of production were supposedly built to Jaguar's assembly/quality inspection regime as the workers would then move onto the Jaguar X type after Halewood was refitted.

Someone fact check this better than I did: I once read that you can identify a "Jaguar" Escort by its unpainted under bonnet.

That's quite interesting as his wasn't painted under the bonnet unlike his last one, it also drive quite nice compared to other mk6 escorts i've driven. It even has an digital mileoneter.
