1980 Ford Cortina 1.6 L Estate

'Ello supermodel! Got a boyfriend yet?

1972 Rover 3500 Automatic

£450 - no MOT, no reverse gear, but it's brown and tax exempt. Just push the thing back if you need to, it won't be that heavy, stop being a wuss.

1993 Jaguar XJ6 3.2

Here comes the bride! There goes the bride! Read the description and amuse yourself just at how down-at-heel this "wedding car" truly is.

1993 Austin Maestro 1.3 Clubman

This would be a better wedding car, at least it's clean and tidy.

That's mine, that is. I should really fix the reverse, whack an MoT on it and sell it for a lot more, but to be perfectly honest I'm fed up with the bloody thing - I've had it nearly a year and got about three weeks' use out of it, not to mention the hundreds I've spent on it.

Shame that, the one I had recently never gave me any real gyp. The points closed over once when my mate was driving it, but other than that it was spot on. They're ace when they work, I see yours is non-PAS? I think they need it badly in town.

I actually don't find the steering that bad at all - I reckon if anything it's lighter than my last 2000TC. Bloody good lock too.

If it doesn't generate any interest by the weekend (and if I get a minute between putting the Austin Ten engine back together and hopefully going over the Alpine) I'll stick it up on ramps and see if I can find a spring to fit. I know for a fact it'll go straight through a test once this is done as I've got the failure and everything on it has been sorted.

I quite like the look of these 166's. An Alfa 6 of the future maybe? This one's pretty cheap at £200....

That is bloody cheap. I've had two 166s, they're good cars - great to drive and surprisingly good build quality for an Alfa. I'm going to be keeping an eye on that one.

Bollocks, I keep getting offered money and deals on my Audi and I'm dead tempted to go for that Chevrolet if nobody else here is stupid enough to....... and before you start, yes I know it's GM and will have shit steering..

oh god please do it, if you can live with the MPG (or should i say 'gas mileage') then it'd be bloody great.

You're probably right. The SLC is always bargainous compared to the SL, which makes it the shite choice. I'd have one. Only problem there is that if it's rotten (and they do rotten surprisingly well) then you could have a bit of a mare trying to get some MoT to enable you to flog the reg number.

1982 Ford Cortina 1.6 GL

I think this is pretty much my dream Cortina - a MK5 1.6 GL with the dartboard/trim ring combo. They've even shined the tyres up and parked it at a sporty angle. I wouldn't usually go for this colour, but I am quite nostalgic about that shade of blue, reminds me of the really crummy low-spec MK3 Escorts that my mate's stepdad would buy at the auctions to do up and sell from home.

1984 Ford Escort 1.1

No trim level! Must be a base. This is exactly the sort of crummy low-spec Escort I'm on about, though it'd be nowhere near this nice. Or even this slightly darker shade of blue.

1989 Fiat X1/9 Gran Finale

You know when Richard Pryor nicks off with one of these at the end of Silver Streak? I wonder whether he drives back to Kansas City to get that Jag he nicked earlier, or just keeps the X1/9 in lieu of it.

1989 Austin Metro City

£50 Metro with a running fault, doesn't sound like anything major.

Check out that lacquer peel, it's like a California import. I seem to remember something about paintwork issues on silver BL cars of that era. I'm sure Watchdog or someone will have got into a right strop about it.

1971 Volvo 144 DL

I could really fancy one of these old Volvos lately, I suspect they're a bit too classy for the likes of me, though this one has taken itself down to my level a bit.

1982 Ford Cortina 1.6 GL

I'm also feeling the love for Cortinas like this. It's one of my secret ambitions in life to at least have a drive in one. Believe it or not, the only Cortina I've ever sat in was a Mk1! I know, I haven't lived!!

1984 Ford Escort 1.1

This reminds me of the one my parents had - the same base model except it was turquoise/sky blue with the red stripe, and a 1.3. I remember when we pitched up at the Ford dealer in Woking to buy it new. They were in a phase when they put up "jazzy" lettering and graphics in the showroom window when the new reg letter came out in August, on the formula "x is for....." That year I distinctly remember it was "B is for Busy Bee" (!)

My dad chopped it in in '93/'94 for a Rover 214 and I was gutted I wasn't old enough to drive yet cos I would've had it off him :(

The enquiry is complete

The vehicle details for B528 JPB are:

Fuel Type Petrol

Export Marker Not Applicable

Vehicle Status Unlicensed

Vehicle Colour BLUE

Vehicle Excise Duty Rate for vehicle

6 Months Rate £68.75

12 Months Rate £125.00

I suppose 14 years is quite a good innings...

Mark.
