just saw that camry on the 'bay, fucking hell  That HAS to go to a musuem, plus id feel really weird in a car thats barely been used because someone formed such an emotional attatchment to it, id feel like i was intruding.Hopefully the new owner treats it right. Cant imagine spares are plentiful?

Sado 550 (nomen est omen...) with a 550cc Daihatsu triple, and a weird ad. Sounds like quite a nippy little thing!

Is anyone else seeing mk2 escort RS2000 when they look at the front of this /\ ?
deffo mk2 escort lmao

Nope. Doesn't dong at all :(

Oh. Your pixies must have died. Either that or they've fallen in love and are having hot pixie sex in the ashtray.
These are so cool. I have them in my 323 and Accord. So much more pleasant and polite than an annoying buzzer.Didn't know they were actual pixies though. Don't seem to need feeding or anything....
My ding pixie is working well, but the dong one is a bit tired and doesn’t do much. I’ll have to see if the chime thing is still there in the dead Laurel – as well as the bell it also had the voice warning telling you the lights were on, so there really was no way of forgetting with them both going off.

I hope The Doctor is bidding, because that is the perfect car for him to work his magic on...Mark.

Rover

It will then need the battery charging, an M.O.T. test and road fund licence taxing.

One further complication. The car is fitted with an immobiliser which apparently needs a four digit code to unlock it. We think that we know the correct code - but if it was changed close to his demise, he will have taken the new one to the grave.

Seller of that needs to be on here! Spoke to him at Henham Wings & Wheels where he had the R5 on show (pic’s in my thread of the time), he was well into our kind of stuff and had a Talbot Alpine there last year. Inevitably, I think Wuvvum had considered purchase of the R5 at some point in the past.

With regards to "lights on" noises, out of all my old motors I'm fairly sure only the Stanza has one.It is a feature I'd love the Galant to have as it annoys the hell out of me - it doesn't have anything inside the car to indicate the lights are on other than noticing the stalk position, the backlight on the speedo isn't noticable in daylight either. So you might drive somewhere and it starts chucking it down, turn the sidelights on, then pull up somewhere and leave them turned on.One day it is going to result in me flattening the battery, though I've got away with it so far. Dreadful bit of design.

Speaking of 5's, anyone want mine? The HG has gone and I just can't be arsed to fix it. It's an 1108cc and 5 speed. Loads of test (until next march or April I think) and it's pretty solid in general. Interior is a bit grubby and the rear seat top is tatty. Mileage is about 70k I think. It's got four almost new tyres fitted a few hundred miles ago. I'd like to see £150 but it'll go for the best offer I get as I need it gone.

Oh yeah, it's currently got a Gordini front bumper and guages but I have the originals still. Comes with a pair of new wings too.

Puzzles me a bit that R5 tbh. If it's as good as it looks (and I've no reason to suspect it's not) then it really is cheap at £495, I would think a good 5 TX should be worth double that really. TX's were popular for raping for the power steering rack for 5 Gordinis and the 1400 lump for R4s and such like. Does look cheap, am tempted but really need to get everything else working first.

It's had a tart-up type respray at some stage, bumpers & side mouldings are the wrong colour and most of the panels have dings in them. Plus it has the usual Renner electrical niggles. It's a solid old bus and in very useable condition, but as SL says, if you wanted to bring it up to show condition it'd need quite a lot of TLC. Probably still worth a monkey as it is though to be fair.

The 5TX does look nice - but could this be a telling shot? :?

I think thats probably a very telling shot tbh. Gruby carpet, mysterious wooden strips mounted in the boot, stick holding the boot open, fabric 'parcel shelf' cover presumably missing (and virtually impossible to obtain).

It's not a bad thing but as SL and wuvvum said, it's not as nice as it looks.

just thinking what a great old shitter this would be. 80k on the clock, test til next may and CDi spec so nice and comfy.

These old 8 valve travelling queers are great cars...bet this would batter up and down the motorway for years yet giving no grief. Not a bad deal at all for £395
