When several morons are prepared to bid up a jizzed-over 11-year-old ambulance up to SEVEN FRIGGING GRAND on the basis of it being PINK and having £20 of MDF anf £50 of faux-leather inside, its time to give up, roll over and die. I don't want to live anymore. Or maybe these people don't deserve to live anymore.

Christ on a bike! I've not seen one like that in like forever. It's almost like they stopped making them for a bit.... I remember the white-bumpered early simca-type jobs, and the run-out two-tone jobs were plentiful. But random 80's pov spec, I can;t even remember seeing. And there was a talbot dealer in the village where I lived at the time.

Those Crayford Cortinas are quite collectable aren't they? 5k is a bit steep but hardly surprising. They did a credible hatchet job on the marina koop, and I'm fairly sure they had a go on the Allegro with industrial strength steel girders on the sills. Oh and they put an estate back end on mercs and audis.Thinking about it early1980/81 Alpines are very rare - I guess it was a bad steel year. I'd 'debag' it and replace it with Aleko badges and titter myself to sleep every night. The Rapier and Minx badges were added right at the end of the Solaras/Alpines life - two tone paint, loose tappets and rubber mats standard.

An ambulance? What the fuck's next?

A shagged out ex-Royal Mail LDV with the roller shutter on the back masquerading as a "limousine"?

Give me strength...

In other news, I wonder how much rust is hiding under this vinyl roof:

We got a Solara version of that as a trade in many moons ago, was worth about 25p so we ran it as the garage hack for a bit. It was actually pretty nice to drive, even had power steering which really surprised me. My Mrs at the time wouldn't get in it though..

One of my early spottings that! Had more bubbly bits than an aero bar

Sweet Jebus. Someone went to the trouble (and expense) of hauling that land-yacht to Ireland, and apparently didn't bother doing anything with it.The owner should've cubed it while scrap metal prices were through the roof...
