GET ON THAT, DAN HIRST!If you buy a Daewoo Espero I will send you two packets of congratulatory Malted Milk* biscuits as a reward.

It's quite nice, but unless I can get it for £150-ish, no chance. Otherwise I'm holding out for a top-spec one, despite that they really aren't that plush. I do genuinely like them though, not just in shite terms. The crisp Bertone styling is quite something, still looks quite fresh today. My dream garage will have a Daewoo Espero with (homebrewed) two-tone paint.Having said that, my dream garage includes a Toyota Carina E 2.0 CDX and a mid-90s Mazda 626 (5 door hatch with the mad rear lights and little spoiler), so that isn't a huge compliment.Re: the Charade, I nearly bought one of those once, didn't have a saggy roof like that one though. It's been for sale itself on eBay a bit ago, should be in this thread somewhere. No tax/test and they want daft money for it if I recall.

The ebay chappie with the lovely low mileage cars also know the value of excellently taken photos aswell, they must add 20% to the value of his cars. Even if he goes overboard a touch with the descriptions.

Decent pics really are where it's at. If they look jazzy and well presented then you'll always get decent coin.

My mum had both a 1988 Carina Executive and a 1992 Mazda 626 GL, both were great cars which just kept going. The Carina lasted 18 years and the Mazda's still alive!A friend bought a L reg 2.0 Carina E with 80k on the clock at the local auction for £300. Don't know if it was a CDX, seemed a fairly high spec and was in very good condition.

That green might look good over a met beige a la Forester ST.

Were the 626 diesels any good?

Gr8 4 taxi fleet? This one will likely be cheap...

Didn't those 626 dizzlers have slightly unusual engines? Wikipedia says nowt, but I seem to recall they were labelled D-CX, were they supercharged?

Yup, they had a device called a Comprex, if memory serves, which was basically a supercharger. They were probably slightly less powerful than the average contemporary TD, but they had the advantage of no turbo lag. I think they're a rather good idea. In fact I've just bid on that one.

ZXi sticker missing off drivers side - check

Aerial stuck not fully up - check

New looking air inlet hose and cleaner round oil filler - check

MOT would be due around now - check

Tax would be due at end of the month - check

I loved that car immensely

Phew! The Piazza went for £280, was it you Mr Scrap? Seems strong money for something with no T&T, either someone must’ve had a look and it’s OK or those LSD-equipped axles are really getting to be worth something to the Chevette and Manta people.

No, luckily I have no disposable money any more - the whole being a father thing etc...On saying that, I think I just bought another w140 Benz ;)S320 this time with LPG, so almost sensible!

Is that Clubman really gold? Looks to me in the pics to be the same colour as my HL which AFAIK is 'Mace' (Brown)...

I thought it looked rather like the Sandglow colour of my old 1300 ADO16
It's called Antique Gold; my dad had an Allegro that colour - it resembles the product of a cow with bowel issues....Whilst being green in reality it usually says gold on the V5!

GL and GLS spec Mk1 Cavaliers are very appealing machines IMO. Seriously considered buying a 2000GLS in bright green some years ago.Like Ford Ghias used to, they definitely look like a higher trim spec than base or L or whatever thanks to extra chrome, nice wheels etc. Difficult (for me anyway) to tell nowadays.

It's that good he could only be bothered to take one crap photo..

theres a link to a photobucket account in the description. I'd give my left arm for this car - its exactly what I wanted! Unfortunately I already gave my left arm for the Mazda. Just as well its an auto then. The 1.6 SLX is the holy grail of Rivas, so expect some high bids. £620 already!
