The guy selling this is the one who bought a red one from eBay a few months ago, then started advertising it as parts with prices of £100 for a door mirror and so on. Obvioulsy a bit of a mental case.

Apparently "the brakes are loosing air", which I thought would be a good thing......or did Chrysler build them on a lorry chassis. They were horrible when new, and 30 years on they're still shite.[in fact they're too dull to be shite] £250 worth [if that]

* ABILITY TO RAISE OR LOWER THE BODY BY APPROX 3 FEET - due to the specialised CITROEN HYDROPNEUMATIC SUSPENSION, which incorporates a total of 12 spheres - 6 on each side behind the Central access hatch beneath each side door.

So its just a really big BX then?? Sounds Reliable!!

Bought by this guy on ebay for £372 a week ago, straight back on the bay with no work done.... ominous. Still, doesnt look too grim a prospect from here.

Shame, there was a rotten Manta on here last week too, anyone for a Chevette GT/Estate?

What a deal! You'd think if a new box was £350 they'd want to leave that out of the ad, really. Not massively tempted though, they're no Applause.

That Chevette appears to be constructed of rust & pudding. Going on the ones I have owned this is no surprise whatsoever, I expect that chap failed to notice the obvious plod laden rear arches/sills and is now shitting it and trying to offload the bastard.

Charade 'BERLINA' with an autobox and no reverse!

Also, its a 1995 car but has been in the family since 1993 so thats pretty cool.

Shame that's not an earlier Charade. I've got a rotten one sat in my field with a perfect turbo diesel and box in it that would have made a great donor.

1986 Daihatsu Charmant 1600 LGX Automatic

Be like me, sans steering wheel. Think this might be the same one I saw for sale a couple of years back as a drift car. Not sure how obtainable a steering column is, these 1600 ones have a weird steering box setup, unlike the 1300 ones which have a standard KE70 Corolla rack and pinion system. Replacement sticky-out indicator lens could be a problem too, Daihatsu will tell you to whistle. Come on now, get it bought!

You should get it definitely, on account of I can't think of many other people being bothered enough to fix it who won't immediately drift it into a wall. The steering setup will be a Toyota one of some sort, don't know what though. You can get indicators from Germany, but not the sticky out sort.

Are people mad? 40 bids - up to £360 now!

Yes I like Top Gear but obviously not as much as some!

WHY WOULD ANYONE BUY THAT?!!

(except because the money goes to charity...)

Why buy it? Stop with your hazzards flashing on the A40 at white city and hiab it over the hard shoulder = TV COMEDY GOLD WIN WITH PIKEYS

Rare in any condition these days, this one looks pretty smart. There's an appalling GR8 4 DRIFTN-spec one with a huge spoiler and stickers in a nearby village. Makes me despair as it used to be quite tidy.

This is quite neat, if it was based on an air-cooled VW it'd be worth billions of pounds no doubt
