The only flaw in that is that Ascot was poverty spec. on that era of car.

Looking at Rover 100 specs (Your Rio would have been badged Rover Metro)....The range appeared to be:Ascot, Ascot SE, Knightsbridge, Knightsbridge SE (Not sure where the Kensington came, think it was a limited edition) all with a 1.1 or 1.5D engine. The 1.4s were:SLi, GSi, GTa.So, 1.1 Ascot is as low as you can get. Which makes it an inspired choice for a 1.8VVC conversion.

The FW 11 design was later purchased by Citroën, and with little changes (like an aluminium body instead of fiberglass, except for the trunk) it was mass produced as the Citroën BX for 12 years, becoming a "best-seller" for the French company.

Who would have thought it?:shock::shock:

Must be one for the future, and as the link won't work, I assure you it is a 121

And one for now

That blue and yellow R14 is back up again (in France though). Looks a bit of a long shot, but €15 might be a source of spares

Hole in one on a par 5! Surely there must be enough of us nutters out there to have one with some spare storage space, one with enough time to go pick it up, and a few more to chip in to make it driveable. We should all chip in. I will happily start the kitty off with a pledge of £100 and will be in UK within the week to honour it.

lo and behold - another one! Mr B's is in better nick though.

We'd better have them both - you know, just for the spares...

Bonus update! Nearly 8 minutes worth of Tagora advert action: I love the smug grin as he overtakes a BMW and also the bit where he shows it to his chums who all also own Tagoras.

It might have been a roaring commercial failure, but I bet Talbot made their money from licensing the rear light cluster design to BMW for their new 3-series.

Incredible, a Luce! I have a Japanese brochure for that generation, a few of them had the RX-7 13B rotary. I'm led to believe they were a commercial failure but I can't remember where I got that info from.

I know they’re not especially loved on here, but this unmolested example deserves a good home. I fear it won’t look this good for long…
