AnthonyG
I don't know what a bag of sand is, but there's really only one choice - Mazda MX5s - £1500 will bag you a good enough example. Always loads of Escort, Astra, Rover 200, Punto etc convertibles around for under a grand but why bother - most are fairly grim.
Father Ted
'Ello Dave - when did you get a Merc then? Found this for under a bag (of sand = grand = £1000)
Mr_Bo11ox
No way, that is not a mid-life crisis vehicle, a fuggin metro?!!!?Surely an MGF or an MX5 can be picked up for a grand nowadays, I know where theres a mouldy MGF parked in a bush so they must be getting cheap. retrogeezer
What about an Escort Mk4 Cabrio?? Should still get a noce one for that money and bound to increase in value too - bonus!
wuvvum
How about this? It's not T&T'd at the moment, but it's definitely sporty and I only want £225 for it which should leave you ample money to get it sorted. It's even got four almost-brand-new Continentals on it. A victim of my fleet reshuffle, unfortunately - I've decided that forking out £1400 a year on car tax is a bit over the top in these times of crunchy credit (and no payrises or bonuses ) so I'm cutting down the size of the fleet and concentrating on tax exempt stuff. shite_meister
If its convertible you want then how about a BMW E30, a choice of either proper convertible or the Baur one that looks like a stag, yes you can get them for your sort of money, I had a late 320i smooth as fuck for £800 and I've seen a few since hovering around £1200 but with cash in hand the sellers would buckle like VBH's legs after a sesh with dollywobbler. Chrysler Le Baron, I was thinking of the square one not that one that RayManBoy is always trying to shift (although why not do a deal with the old window licker?) The square ones are utter shite and horrid to drive but when you can get a bright red interior then that sells it for me. Triumph TR7? mate just picked up a tidy one for three figures and woteva bird you're trying to date/molest will surely think you're being ironic. Mk2 Astra Convertible? always liked them with the GSi bumpers, Mk1 Golf convertible, Pug 205 Cti? all possible on your budget although you'd have to get used to telling everyone 'you're not gay or owt' Cavalier convertible?? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Vauxhall-Cavalier ... 7C294%3A50 My prefered choice, Saab 900: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Saab-900-Classic- ... 7C294%3A50 Little bit more money but I reckon you could haggle if you rubbed his nose against the Queens head: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/94-SAAB-900-2-3-C ... 7C294%3A50 This: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1995-SAAB-900-S-R ... 7C294%3A50 Renault 19 in nice colour: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/RENAULT-19-AZUR-K ... 7C294%3A50 Rover 214 (but just don't): http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1993-ROVER-214-16 ... 7C294%3A50
Father Ted
After a "discussion" with the wife, she says that I can have my mid life crisis so long as its a big chunky 4x4, so just to spite her Im current hgh bidder on this as it has a removable top.... Guest
I imagine that will fill the criteria of making women moist, they love a man in uniform (hi-vis jacket), who lives a life of action (stealing manhole covers), yet is financially secure enough to have his own place (caravan on waste ground). I was going to sell my truck but I think I'll keep it pending my own mid life crisis (although i suspect that started at about 18 and is ongoing)
Father Ted
You silly sod.............don't buy a Front Error. For about 800 sheets you can pick up an early 200Tdi 3 door disco......!Ah, but my welding skillorz are shit, plus I dont have a limitless suply of sheet steel. TBH done it to spite the wife, £300 of Frontera sat on the drive will soon give way to (probably now i have loked at them) one of those SAAB convertables - not considered one up to now and they do look pretty good. How dare the wife dictate my mid life crisis. Off to join the Virgin life Gym tonight. I can probably pass as one.
Cavcraft
Fuck, those Saab convertables are cheap now aren't they? Will have to have one one day.Marty: get the Frontera and I'll have it off you when you sell it. Landrover Discos may have better off road capabilities but rust like there's no tomorrow and are not as well built as the Frontender.
