Remains nice and solid having spent most of its life in France. The previous owner was a lady who had it for 16 years and it was mainly used for these long distance trips to the continent. She only sold it to make way for a newer Volvo V70 as she felt it was getting a little 'old...

Sifting through the paperwork I found the address of the house and its a typical grand French mansion and theres also a few interesting bits and pieces in the cars history file such as a fine issued by the French police in 2007.

Although it was on French plates until a year or two back, there is a fair bit of service history, the booklet is stamped upto 71649 miles and there are various invoices since then. There is also the last two MOT certificates and related paperwork for work done.

It's easily the most economical car I've ever had, done a few long distance trips whereupon it's returned 55/60mpg and I believe it can be run on veg oil?

Apart from an upgraded stereo fitted at somepoint, the car remains original with the factory tilt / slide electric sunroof and rear load cover all in place.

Comes with the spare wheel, jack and full book pack present.

New wiper blades and new battery just been put in too.

The red paintwork polishes up nicely and the bodywork is very tidy apart from a tiny dint in the rear tailgate. It's always been totally reliable and I'd trust it to get me anywhere.

Asking for around £795 elsewhere but shitters discount can be applied...Lord Sterling helped deliver this so it would be nice if it stayed in the fold. I imagine it's worth a fair bit if you were to break it for parts, the engine and gearbox are sought after, but it deserves better than that. That said, I don't want to take too much less as being an estate it's a useful thing to have around and if it weren't for the costs of taxing/insuring a second vehicle it would defiantly be staying.

Located in Kingussie, Scottish Highlands, but can look into delivery elsewhere. Drive me home tax' until the end of the month...

Mk 3's are vastly underrated but I might be a little biased. The dizzler estate is a good thing.

This ^

They should do 50+mpg, nearer 60mpg cruising, and have a reasonable amount of space inside. The only small downside is the >1500cc tax rate as they are too old to be on emissions criteria.

(I realised a few days ago I have owned my Mk3 Golf for ten years)
