More of an everyday lurker on here than a poster so hope this is allowed:

2001 BMW 530D SE

191,926 miles
Manual

Sunderland, Tyne & Wear

Good bits:
Pulls great and is averaging 47 mpg according to the car.
Climate Control
Cruise Control
6 CD Changer
Heated Seats
New discs and pads all round
Water pump recently changed
Belts recently changed

Bad bits:
Bodywork cosmetically tatty
PDC's not working, probably just needs a new sensor

Was a Cat D, hit on the passenger side rear. Repaired by my Dad who was a panel beater at Mill BMW, he's canny good.

£800

Ooh, local as well! Make sure to post it in our FB E39 market place, manual 530d are quite desirable for many apparently, you should be able to sell it for that price if the right person sees it.

In my opinion it's the best engine to have in one of these if you actually intend using it as a daily. GLWTS

Up on ebay:

Been getting floods of offers around £500, is it really worth so little?

Not neccesarily. If you'd put it up for £1000 they'd be offering £700, for £500 they'd offer £300. Just the way it works.

Agree about the mot. At this price point the length of mot can have a bigger effect in value. It does look quite tidy though and a lot of car for the money. Quite tempted by a big old smoker!

Can you really get 47 out of one of these? I would have thought more like 37.

Yes you can, they are surprisingly economical. Still wouldn't take one over my petrol though. :)

And yeah, 800 quid is about right for this one, the high mileage is the biggest issue obviously, with a bit of waiting you can find one with 50k less for little more money. Most "E39 enthusiasts" are mostly looking for Sport models as well.

This. Bangernomics values a car at £40 to £100 a month, so an offer of £500 was VERY good.

I'm going to have a guess that veg will kill one of these. This is based in nothing note than a hunch. Am I right?
