JayW
Friends have recently bitten off far more than they can chew with a French R4 Van. It came with a nova certificate, bur where do they go from there? I'm busy replacing most of the "steel" in the floor and chassis for MOT but I'm not sure what the normal order of things is. Do they have to MOT before registration? After? Anyone have experience? Cheers! eddyramrod, pilninggas, Dick Longbridge and 2 others

panhard65
If you have the NOVA and a carte gris then just mot it on chassis number, order an import pack from the DVLA, fill it in and send it off usually get the reg within a fortnight. I am looking for an F4 if they decide to sell. My mate wants to build a copy of the uk 4 pick ups. Having been in touch with the guy who built them new he still has the jigs and plans. eddyramrod and Nicola H
JayW
Cheers chaps, most helpful, straight for MOT then! It won't be for sale, the woman bought it as it mimics one her dad had when she was a kid. Living the dream so to speak. Sadly, they know fuck all about cars and this is in a baaaaad way. It was bought from an "import specialist" who told them it was "basically sound" and just needed "light restoration", gesturing toward the nice welding they had recently completed to a high* standard. Unfortunately, the visible bits of welding were just tacked straight over the mass of rust and the complete rusted out floor was replaced with a sheet of Galv crudely riveted on. It was baàaaaaaààd. Having not moved since 2004, pretty much all the Consumables need replacing too. Oh, and it doesn't run... A snip at £1500!
