purplebargeken
Poss able to get a cheap kangoo to use as a weekend camper thingy. Opinions on the Kangoo generally purleeze. I will fit if I take the passenger seat out. No hassle as no-one wants to be a passenger in my chod anyway. Ta
Jazoli
They are ok, they drive well and are reasonably well put together, 1.4's are light on fuel too, I've always fancied the 4x4 version, fuck knows why. Don't dismiss the blingo multispace too, they are just as good and can be had with a hdi lump. purplebargeken
Cavcraft
They're great, at least in 1.6 FLAVA anyhow. Very roomy inside. purplebargeken
Guest
Yup, agree- like em a lot. Rust resistant, a decent steer and seem pretty hardy. purplebargeken

SiC
1.4 engine doesn't have the VVTi/dephaser crap that can go wrong like the 1.6. purplebargeken
artdjones
Can have some electrical problems.Check head gasket is ok on 1.4.Its worth considering the 1.2 16v.Tough engine that can do high mileage and has the same power as the 1.4 (75hp).Mechannical parts are cheap. They have loads of space I could put a loaded wheelbarrow in mine. Also quite comfortable. The lad I sold my 1.2 to took it from 163k to 180k in 7 months without any huge expenditure. He wrapped it around a tree then but that was because he hadn't changed his tires in that time. The airbags deployed ok and he got out with one small cut. purplebargeken

The 1.4 16v is 100bhp iirc? 1.6 16v I thought is 120bhp too.
Lacquer Peel
I've seen a couple of 1.2 automatic ones. Grim.
SiC
1.2 auto will be a robo-auto.... Robo-autos aren't known for their reliability in other brands, so you can imagine what they're like on Renaults!

purplebargeken
Feeling the love! Had a proper look at it yesterday. Not bad tbh once you get past the copious amounts of fag ash in the cab and mostly empty packs of dried out moist wipes. Immediate needs:a set of sun visors, passenger side one is missing completely. Window winder knob drivers side needs replacing. Fucking good clean! Although I did do some sample cleaning and it came up well. Slight dent on the O/S front wing, not a problem. Slight dent on bonnet, not a problem. Has been a dog transporter.Always the dog transporter!!!! Am I a magnet for these??? Not a problem really as plenty of anti-dog mud carpeting has been used which has left the rubber flooring stuff clean and in good order. Tons of space, lovely and roomy feel to the car and good all round visibility. The odd scab on the sills but no structural crustiness seen. Colour sort of a metallic bronze/brown colour. Good tyres and exhaust. New clutch fitted last year. 76 odd thousand miles on the clock. Engine bay is filthy and will need a steam clean.Just general grime - but it would bug me. Tons of engine bay access. Ran up to temp happily and fan kicked in. Engine not the most refined but it seemed ok. Oil and filter change would be a good move. Well, a basic service is always a good idea. Radio cassette fitted, steering wheel controls in evidence. Needed code but is present. Needs a couple of trim bits in the back, as missing or hiding somewhere. Couple of fag burns in the seat. Mate is going to have a proper look at it this week up on the ramp, hopefully MOT it and we can talk then...... I like it. taxi paul, Cleon-Fonte and SiC
Hendry
I always liked the rubber flooring in these as easy to clean, a valeters dream!! Havent driven many but I do recall an 02 plate Kangoo "Trekka" 4x4 thing we sold years ago when I worked in the trade, I thought it was quite funky. Berlingo Multispace ive driven loads of, Kangoo from what I remember is better to drive, and the interior seems harder wearing. purplebargeken
Asimo
Van derived cars are definitely shite and definitely for winners! purplebargeken
somewhatfoolish
I had the use of one for a few months; quite lively unladen and a good steer, I found the accelerator pedal was a bit awkwardly arranged and gave me a hurty ankle. Definitely AS material and a worthy successor to the renner 4.
spartacus
My 1.9 diesel van drives fine. I'm assuming the one you're looking at has power steering, as my first one didn't!My first van was also missing the passenger sun visor and the drivers window winder knob was loose, so it must be a thing!Overall they seem OK to me. I like them because they're no frills basic engineering, so not much to go wrong. The radio code is probably 3711.
