pompei
Not really shite related query coming up ...The f***ing dishwasher flashed its warning light that it needed more salt. I refilled it (using the proper stuff) and the wash came out covered in white salty residue and with all the stainless steel stuff covered in rust spots. GRRR (too much salt probably gone in, and bloody light still on - it's worse than my old Fiats) Anyway, is there any way of getting rid of rust spots on cutlery, pans etc? I'm guessing that Kurust etc products will be too harsh?
pogweasel
Blezz it off with an angle grinder and flappy brush. Should any holes appear, simply fill them with wag in the time-honoured autoshite tradition. Hope this helps!

shite_meister
Cilit Bang, GR8 4 MAYKN PENYS SHYNY! Not that I think the aforementioned bang will do much.I have the same problem but fortunately the missus keeps taking cutlery to work and leaving it there thus ensuring a high cutlery turn-over in the Meister household I think in future you should Waxoyl your cutlery leaving you to worry about more important things like clogged arteries and yellow teeth. pogweasel
I've eaten loads of rust (though not always through choice). I rate it slightly above 'cornflakes', but marginally below 'bogeys' for taste. Must be good for the constitution though.

Conrad D. Conelrad
I hate dishwashers. I've tried a bunch of different powders and tablets, but they always leave an invisible coating on the plates/glasses which I can smell. No-one else I know is affected by it so I'm clearly sensitive to something.
Dead_E23
Cilit Bang, GR8 4 MAYKN PENYS SHYNY! Not that I think the aforementioned bang will do much.Bang, and the dirt is wet! I have mostly been doing chores today ('encouraged' by swmbo), and have tested the aforementioned against other products whilst cleaning our stupidly designed kitchen units. Cillit Bang was teh worzt and seemed to achieve little more than the damp cloth on its own. I was quite impressed by Mr Muscle kitchen cleaner (in the yellow bottle) which to my surprise worked quite well - I expected the two brands to have identical ingredients like shampoo, but apparently not.
