BALLS.

I make this ad with teeth firmly gritted and tears held back.

Impending garage space loss coupled with overly strict cul-de-sac management means I literally have no place to store this.

Many of you saw my epic (lol) collection on this beaut. I have loved every second. So far in my ownership I've given it a full service of oil/filter/air filter/plugs, and new Bosch front wipers. Runs smoother now too! Seriously It is a hoot to drive I have been driving it to and from work every day. FJ insurance is 150 fully comp as well, redonkulous.

I even went the whole hog and started purchasing items for it as I intended on making this a rolling resto type thingy. So it comes with a new timing belt kit, QH branded water pump, QH rear shoes and 2 new rear cylinders as I wanted to make the brakes a little more efficient. I EVEN GOT A FLIPPIN HAYNES MANUAL. All this extra junk comes with the car. I have even ordered an original Rover 200 vehicle wallet as I wanted the authentic giffer feel. Oh, and a fuel filter is coming Monday, so I'll whack that on as it should only take me 10 minutes.

Points to note: as per Taxi Paul's listing headlining to rear saggy but complete, and the 50p hole in the boot, which again I was going to get patched at a grand total of £50. However seeing as it's completely not structural and non urgent I didn't care. I haven't got the V5 yet but I will give you my blood and an IOU. Alternatively I will post it out when I receive it off Paul. I had a look underneath and it's had a recent exhaust system almost all the way to the manifold, and the sills are solid, and remarkably, chassis appears free from any other issues. There is surface rust to the arches but, they are strong. Again, I was planning on a rub down and stone chip when I had some time.

I really really do not want to sell this car. I cannot express the sheer joy it makes me feel when I drive it. It's ace.

If I may, I would like £240. I would still make a loss on this as I spent more on the parts, but WHO CARES. It comes resplendent with Autoshite sticker proudly placed in the rear window.

I'm in Brum. I'll leave it taxed/insured to get you home because I am a wonderful man. Pics are from Paul, however it's the same considering I have not had it long. It's got 3/4 tank of fuel, so HURRII b4 it goNE

The offer is kind and very generous of you but Bewdley is a bit too far for me. I'm in Moseley and it's a fair old whack sir. It'd need to be more local for me so I was able to drive it more regularly. THE ROVER DEMANDS TO BE DRIVEN

I got told about my garage space last week and have been frantically trying to sort. I have a garage at my place although it's chock full of my tools etc. I even posted leaflets (lol) through peoples doors here to see if anyone is willing to rent me their space. Not a single reply. TIGHTWARDS

I shall send the v5 off in the new owners name once he pm's it to me. Even the paintwork is shiney. Good luck hopefully it will sell seeing has you have done a bit of work to it and it runs perfect. Surely you just park it somewhere else?

Sorry if I'm over simplifying it, but there's always somewhere. Street park it, even if you have to get a bus/train to it.

I litter shit all over. Roads near work, empty units near work, car park the other side of the village, layby near community center.

You can't just bail out over not having it outside your house. It's a £200 car!

Good luck. Dad has now been waiting 11 weeks for a v5. A guy I sold a civic to 9 weeks ago still doesn't have his. They're just telling people to do v62s by the sounds of things.

Appalling.

Where I live it's a cul de sac, just off a main road, where there isn't really parking. I could park it in the side streets nearby, but seeing as they are on the cusp of built up areas, I'm not very comfortable with it. Yeah, it's a £200 car, but I'm very precious about my cars, whatever their value. I treat them as if they're the best thing since the proverbial sliced. Plus, it may have also be the fact that I am plod and highly suspicious about anyone coming near my car.

It really does Paul! I had started to purchase items with the intention of fitting/sorting bits on each rest day I had as well. If I didn't have so many tools (shit) in my own garage I would have tried to shove it in there. I even shoved in some Redex because POWER

Hmmm, I used to live in Moseley years ago, just off Anderton Park Road. I regularly pass through there and have mates living around there. I shall ask my mates and see if there is any space to lend. Non of them will have a garage, that I do know but secure space might be an option?

If not around Moseley then I have a lot of connections in Birmingham, I might be able to sort something.

Also - Give Bournville Village Trust a call. I got a garage through them but in Telford as inwas working around tyere and have family there, they said they had stock in Birmingham last time I spoke to them.

I think so. When I bought the Bora I received it within 5 days, ferociously fast! I do like the new system though, makes it less of a hassle. Plus, it's free. No need to pay for a stamp and envelope.

That lack of parking is a right kick in the balls now you've become attached. If that's the only reason for selling, there must be a way around it. Don't give up!

On the headlining, here's the fix* I did on mine:

P1010390_zps879a987e.jpg

Cost of fix: £3.78 off the bay, free p+p. Item title: Twist Pins 13mm.

P1010388_zps07647cfd.jpg

My Rover had a sunroof to hold the cloth up at the front, so just the back half looked saggy.
I found that if I held the cloth up into the raised part of the ceiling behind where the sunroof slides back, (above the rear passengers heads,) the whole of the headlining looked good and tight again. I figured I could do it with just three pins in a straight line across the back. With the help of tape measure and string, I carefully measured and marked the spots...

P1010389_zps00cecd20.jpg

Done! Not concourse, but once it's done, nobody's looking at it much.

P1010394_zps6f4b957f.jpg

TL;DR: If you CBA with a more professional method of fixing your saggy-arse BL headlining, twist pins FTW.
It doesn't need to be look too bodged if you measure carefully first.

I am plod and highly suspicious about anyone coming near my car.

Unless this is 1970s Belfast, your cul-de-sac is actually the Shankill Road and you're a member of the now defunct RUC - I'm quietly confident you've not much to worry about.

Some folks are naturally risk averse.  I get that.  But you've literally just got it, it's such a shame to give up on it over something trivial like parking it on a public highway which you've already paid for.

Just sent a text to sims00 as was meant to be popping round to see this beauty tonight, but home life has gone pear shaped in the last 24hrs.  (nothing that major, just a few issues that need to be sorted out, so any car purchases have had to be put on the back burner. I love my kids but sometimes.................)

Hopefully the car will find a new home in the near future.

Cheers
