castros_bro
The scoot prep is nearing MOT time but the amount of blowby vented from an open crankcase breather is a worry, Low revving diesel - Chinese made clone - I am thinking glazed bore so a hone and maybe a new set of rings will sort it. Obviously the bore is pressed in the cylinder which is part of the same casting as half a crankcase so engine out and dismantle the lot, sump off, split cases, remove crank, cam etc etc. I realise this is a somewhat technical ask but as the head gaskets cost a fair penny and the amount of work involved do any tame glaze busters here got useful advice? red5
What makes you think the blow-by is excessive? Is it very oily ?
DodgeRover
Ignore it and use a catch can, piped back into sump if needed. If it's not broke don't fix it
castros_bro
After running for a couple of minutes there was oil dripping off body parts forming a light slick on the floor and a nose destroying fug in the lockup. Also worryingly the rear tyre had a smear of oil covering it.
Sigmund Fraud
Why not try a compression test with/without some oil in the bore ?
