SiC
Good ones seem to go between £1.5k to £2k. Given the classic car market atm, that seems pretty cheap for such an iconic car I think. Plus dirt cheap running costs.
Pillock
Polo engine? Trabant G40. 113bhp stock, 150bhp easily possible. At this point the answer to the "death" question may change. vulgalour
I can inform you that they can be jump started with a Rover and the Rover doesn't even notice. Don't inhale the smoke even accidentally, it's quite unpleasant. Never a frown in almost-brown. They_all_do_that_sir and Vince70

jonny69
As others have said, I don't think* it's possible to die in a car made of old pants and incombustible toxic communist resin. *I'm a scientist. Fabergé Greggs
I didn't agree on a price with the guy in the end, he seemed to be holding out for £1200. It ain't on ebay any more but I'm not sure if it's still for sale...
SiC
That's not a bad price for them, if they aren't rotten and have a decent MOT, nowadays to be honest.

nigel bickle
You started this thread, deliberating 3 weeks ago. If you couldn't decide then, why be sorry now? If it's not for you, fine, but don't beat yourself up because someone else decided it is for them. That's daft
Fabergé Greggs
I'm just vocalising my madness and I thought Autoshite was a safe space for that sort of thing. I want every car ever and sometimes I go through with it and sometimes I don't and sometimes I regret it either way, including when I sell. Isn't that 90% of the people on here? I should probably add that as well as feeling silly I feel relieved that I can stop pondering it daily
SiC
Keep an eye on the eBay seller named "lambo682012". He appears to import Trabants from Eastern Europe often. They look good from the pictures and seem to sell well. He has been quiet for a while but I have noticed him starting to list again. I won't deny, that one that sold looked pretty good and a good price. He's not long reduced it to £1350. I was very tempted myself but I needed to scratch the MGB GT itch first. Certainly on my long term list of must buy and experience. I had the same feeling of missing out with the red MGB I saw. However I still managed to find another good one and even though more expensive, a lot less work needed. Don't worry there will be others. Also getting to end of season now too for classic cars. Less will come on but those that do, you can get away with offering less. LightBulbFun
