Those revolting tattoos put me off much more than the bits that nature provided.

Thankfully they're not banned, so guess what all my photos are going to feature now? :-)

I kinda like the apparent lack of moderation and unspoken rules say for instance in the cars & girls thread. Muff covered, car in picture, all sizes, shapes & colour, young, old more autoshite the car the better.

for balance we even have the cars & men thread.

While it is predominantly a car forum we seem to get a good wide range of topics that seem to spark an interest with many posters. I also love how a topic just runs way OT for whatever reason, most of the time,

If it wasn't for the cars and girls posts, I'd have no idea that certain porn sites existed, and I wouldn't now be having to wear glasses.

In all seriousness now. Either we allow porn or we don't. Either we allow blatant sexism and swearing or we don't.

I would suggest if we want the demographic of contribution to be male, white and middle-aged and none religious* then we continue as we are.

If we want to embrace the rest of society, then maybe we need to apply the rules we have.

*I say none religious, because there are 2 threads which I don't think I'd be happy with if I were a strong believer of almost any world religion.

I am with Rod/b on this one now

I dont surf cars and women regularly (certainly not at work) and tbh only ever visit if I find something "tasteful" to post. if it were to go outright then I would miss a lot of the tasteful stuff I guess but not so much as I would sob uncontrollably . tell you what why not post the whole damn lot to oneclickchicks or something like that?

Religion, I couldn't give a toss if you believe or not, I do and because I do I rarely read anything that offends me - I know I am right and non believers can "go to hell" :D which they wouldn't believe in etc etc. :D Oh and I have nearly always found that it is the atheist who makes the most noise in any forum debate, sometimes it is fun to play and see life from the other side but all that generally does is reinforce my belief.

I guess what I am rambling towards is don't start censoring wholescale across the forums else we will end up like the stag owners forum where any post that doesnt contain the word stag or be specifically about a stag is locked or deleted. it just breeds bad feeling!

Online bullying is another warming topic, you see shit go through the press from time to time about it. one person having a laugh at another expense can be classed as bullying ffs. yes I know pathetic.

I would suggest, get rid of porn and advise all forum members to try not be a cunt, we do all need reminding from time to time

How refreshing for a religious person not to get on their high horse because someone doesn't share their belief - I'm a non-believer but each to their own, as long as they don't try forcing their point of view on me. I guess we'll find out who's right at the end..?

And yes, we all need a gentle reminder sometimes

Some good points being raised there, and (non-patronising) kudos to Richard for taking the anti-religious stuff on the chin.
FWIW, I think some of it (albeit a while ago now) was offensive, and completely agree it's usually atheists who have the most to say, not all of it is easy reading and (iirc) it saw a decent, popular member off from here.
I'll repeat I'm not really religious myself, but I'm not anti-religious either.

I'm not happy with the cars and girls thread, it's unnecessary and serves no purpose, I like to browse the forum at work and at home sitting on the sofa next to the kids and wife and to have explicit images pop up is not on, for a bunch of adults there is some pretty childish behaviour at times.

sigs are shit, wgaf?

At the end of the day the mods are fucked if they do, fucked if they don't.

If you don't ban the "offensive" material you are failing to uphold the rules, if you do try to implement a control of any kind you are a power mad buzz killing political correctness gone mad nanny state.

I do not expect the cars & girls thread to be removed just because myself and a few others don't like it, for me the best scenario is for the people posting in the thread to decide to keep it tasteful and stop posting explicit images.

This may need a gentle nudge post in the thread as not everyone will be reading this.

I would agree with the rules someone else suggested up there, no genitals, nipples, or arseholes (in every sense of the word) and picture must contain a car.

If we have to have the Cars & Girls thread at all (I'd be happy to kill it, but each to their own) maybe it should be in the Open Forum section, then it does not pop up for those who view at work or with families.

God knows there are enough sites where you can view naked women (so I'm told!) but not that many where you can enjoy crap cars.

I worked for the company that did the typesetting for Oz magazine so I suppose I could be counted as in favour of the publication of possibly obscene material... but with age comes wisdom and I think that this forum is not the place for it to be on view. Perhaps those who are not viewing the forum from a family home could be reminded to be respectful of those that are.

Right then, I'm sure the C&G thread complaints are aimed at me so hear me out on this. The criteria I have for posting on there is that it has to either be a fit bird and a shonky car or a posh car and a shonky bird. They're posted for comic response and largely they've been taken in the right spirit and good humour.

Which is what I was aiming for. I can find any number of pictures of some bird with her badly-packed kebab spilling out, with a 2008 BMW 3-series somewhere off in the distance. What I was going for was traditional jazzmag style shots, with proper shite in the pics. Frizzy-haired 80s blonde bent over a Maestro or something. You'd be surprised at how many pictures I went through to find stuff I thought was in the spirit, I thought nips were OK but I'll censor them a bit more in future.
