"Cars and Girls" doesn't have to be explicit. There's nothing wrong with fully-dressed pictures of lovely, stylish ladies in or beside cars.

Agreed.

Instead though, last night we had what can only be described as numerous cow's udders in the boot of a MK1 Mondeo.

Sorry to be a liberal lefty political correctness gone wrong type, but for what it's worth I would get rid of the "cars & girls" thread completely.

If it must stay I would propose a ban on all nudes, I can begrudingly admit there is some potential artistic value in a photo of a woman next to a car.

What I have a problem with is the full on reader's wives grade grot that seems to pop up regularly when browsing on tapatalk.

The latest photo in the thread is shown on tapatalk whether you like it or not - it might be a tasteful B+W 60s photo of a clothed woman standing next to a renault 4, or it might be a reader's wife spread over the bonnet of a Vectra.

As 90% of the internet is actual porn, can we try and keep this bit mostly about cars please?

yeah good luck with that, it covers about 50% of posts ever made.

Sometimes it is good to have a refresher - it helps if people know what they have signed up to, so they know what their rights and responsibilities are.

If you have an issue with a particular thread then please let one of the moderation team know.

Rarely ever weigh in in discussion (argument) threads but:

The cars n girls thread is titled as such, don't like it don't view it (tapatalk excepted). Same as the Birds you'd like to shag thread.

I've only ever said one thing that upset someone and I immediately retracted it when it was pointed out.

Running the risk of becoming to conservative and boring with too much censorship.

I doubt that will be the case. Not too much censorship. Just new mods. It will be still be the same old place. Am confident. Am just thankful that this place still exists.

Please don't think this post was about censorship, far from it.

We are just being 100% clear about everyone's rights and responsibilities as members of AS.

No, it can be described better than "cow's udders" - "cow's udders" describes this:

nursieudders_5501.jpg

"A sad insane old woman with an udder fixation."

I would say that the picture you are referring to is a cousin of the "razzle stack" and might be a "razzle row". Or maybe even a row of Ant & Decs (Ant & Dec n. A popular art pamphlet photographic study, whereby the model displays her well-trimmed minge and anus, i.e. a half bald twat and a little arsehole. e.g. 'Right love thats the hamburger shots finished. Now roll over and ill take a couple of Ant & Decs to finish off the film.'

Sack off Tapatalk or get them to fix the issue.

I agree with the content point you're making, but it is clearly signposted. My only grumble about it is when it goes OT and there isn't an identifiable vehicle (car or bike) in shot that "ATCNBE" can be attributed, rather than any big hairy fannies showing. I suppose Pillock has the right compromise of covering up any potentially offensive growlers with comedy overlays.

I agree with this but I do have an issue with that bunglebus, whoever that is as I've never seen them say thing about their cars, filling the thread with hotlinked images straight from another site. The images have their name all over them (even if originally not theirs) and its just pointless laziness.

Everything else can just carry on as normal :-)

sooooo how much weight do the new mods need to throw about

I don't see it like that at all. If you joined a club you'd expect to abide by their rules. I'll try an analogy but may fail..

A relative of mine used to drink too much. He was a member of a snooker club where he used to spend a fair few evenings in the bar. He was a bit obnoxious when he'd had too much too drink. He thought he was popular but used to upset people. One night he went too far and was rude to the barmaid as she wouldn't give him another drink. He ended up with a 6 month ban. Bearing in mind this is an older gentleman not a young lout. He served his ban and now drinks there all the time. The funny thing is he's now teetotal. Lost 4 stone in weight too and is a much more likeable person. I'm not sure if my analogy works exactly but a gentle, occasional reminder of the rules of the club doesn't do any harm.

Whilst I am happy to abide by the rules, and have never knowingly transgressed, am curious to know why we are being reminded. Not that it matters like. Just curious.

I would like an additional rule, which goes something like "Posters must be modest at all times" That would get the smug me banned though. so maybe not.
