John F
Nice find, Nigel! With respect to value, there's another similar Volvo 4x4 on eBay at the moment (in Scotland) for a shade under £10k o.n.o... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VOLVO-TGB-1111-C303-LAPLANDER-4X4-MILITARY-LAND-ROVER-PORTAL-AXLE-/152591172426?hash=item238724834a:g:spEAAOSwx6pYoNJz

danthecapriman
I don't need to say this but... you do know your duty bound to buy it! It's absolutely awesome!
nigel bickle
Ta. with an 1800cc ,65bhp engine I thought it must be made of ally, but no, seems it's welded steel. Can't be quick then, can it? Probably rusty too, although I'm guessing it straightforward to repair. Not overly enthused, frankly feels like a pile of work. Cheers though

danthecapriman
If it's got the 1800cc engine than it'll be the B18 from the Amazon/140 series cars which means it's a superb engine, absolutely tough as nails and go on forever. Where did you find it?
John F
It'd be about as fast as an old Series Land Rover, which is for the best given it has leaf springs fore & aft. It does have portal axles though, so it'll probably be quite good off-road. If the sale price is less than £2,000 there could be a decent profit in it IMO. warninglight
I need it! I have space for it, I have an Amazon to park it next to, and I have a Land Rover series shaped hole in my life... Sloth in a bowl and eddyramrod
nigel bickle
Then PM me your details, (and what you'd pay,) and if I get to see it & decide against it, I'll pass on your details - and (with their permission)give you theirs. It is on the south coast....... eddyramrod

Guest Hooli
I've seen it's big bother (C303? 6 wheel thing) off-road & it made a lot of LRs look rather silly. Very impressive toys.
Uncle Jimmy
If it's a C202, which it looks like it's likely B20 powered. Not sure if they were single or twin carb but 90-120 bhp. The C303 is very similar but with the inline 6cyl B30 from the Volvo 164 and would be twin carb 145 bhp. They are very capable off road as Mr Hooli says, not many Range Rovers would get out of this. danthecapriman
Uncle Jimmy
I've seen C202s, admittedly rough ones go for a couple of bags, there seems to be little interest in them here. Another off road vehicle I like is the Simca Marmon, powered by a flat head Ford V8, one was lurking on ebay for ages last year for under a grand... Asimo
There was / is one rotting in a garden near here, fantastically rusty, Lancia on the beach rusty, so check for rust! nigel bickle
