Quite a lot for today on my run to Birmingham and back:

-TVR V8S on the M5

-Sherpa camper outside a house on the A34

-Capri mk3 in Hazel Grove

-Sterling coupe in the middle of Birmingham

-Volvo 240 estate festering outside a house on the A34 with various bits of trim missing

-205 passed me while I was outside Aldi in Stafford-ish

-mk2 Scirocco somewhere in Stafford too

-Corrado VR6 in Smethwick

and in Stafford Asda car park, all at once:

-406 estate in a dark gold colour with a beige interior

-a T25 and three T3 Transporters having a dubbermong meet

-a Ford Popular (the long nose version!)

Pissed off at the lack of pictures from today's two spottings:

A lovely, lovely, lovely A-reg XR3 in dark green, with chrome fittings.  Looked absolutely mint.  Will probably go past again soon.

A 68-ish (so my partner's Dad said) Vauxhall Victor in black.  Again, a minter.  I'm moving to just around the corner in June (waiting for our house to be built...) and it was parked in a car port, visible from the road.  So will definitely try and get a picture soon...

Also just remembered:

My Golf gets serviced by an Alfa/TVR specialist near Canterbury (they're great).  They're next to a high-end bodyshop so I see all kinds of interesting cars there all the time.

The other day I took my Golf in and lo and behold!  An original Ford GT40 being put up onto a trailer under its own power.  Seriously.  Spoke to partner's Dad (who is a car nut) and he's seen it there before.  Turns out that it's a hobby-built GT40 (done properly) using all-OEM Ford parts, essentially as a CKD.  Although it's not 'officially' a Ford because it was built by somebody else, Ford have sanctioned it to be registered as such because it's all Ford parts and put together properly.

I'm kicking myself that I didn't get a picture.  Performance cars aren't my 'thing' but I thought an original GT40 was a pretty good sighting.

Whilst travelling to Uni on the train to Glasgow 20 years ago it used to pass this rural house which appeared to have been a small school at one time. It caught my eye because all the blinds on the front windows were perfectly aligned and the white mk3 Astra never seemed to move.

I moved quite near that house in 2011 and over the past 6 mintjs I noticed that the Astra was still in the same spot and slowly turning green the house also looked run down so today I took a drive past. The house is indeed quite diwn at heel and my wife saw a little old lady at the window. The Astra K528ELS has been off the road since 2011. It still looks tidy and original.

Spotted a mark 1 Land Rover Discovery with a pickup and 6 wheel conversion going the other way just next to Thainstone today. It was bright blue.

I also saw an immaculate white Morris Minor traveller on St Machar Drive in Aberdeen on Friday while at work.

Spots of the day:

-Jaguar XF, with a load of stick on tat and randomly placed stickers, middle of the bonnet etc.

It had a fucking GT wing on the bootlid.

-cooking 2004ish Audi A3, with a cutout and riveted on ally plate bottom centre of the rear bumper, and a motorbike silencer poking out.

It passed me 2 hours later, revealing the bike can wasn't connected to anything.

-heard something humming along and thought 'what's some idiot put a fart can on?'

it was a grey 405 estate lowered on 17" wheels from a 206 GTi180. Wonder if it had an engine swap as there was some sort of red and white badge on the back where the trim level badge would have been?

Multiple today.  I even text myself as a reminder.

The good (bad) stuff:

Modern Rolls-Royce Phantom.

Rolls-Royce Corniche (more like it!)

Audi R8 in white

Audi R8 in blue

The shite (good) stuff:

90s silver Subaru Impreza (unfortunately driven by a twat in the wrong lane, had to take avoiding action)

Rover 100 in dark green

Light blue Cityrover

This was all in fewer than 25 minutes of actual driving in and out of Ashford down the A20 to the supermarket.  It was a good haul.

Amazing day today.

Mk 1 Fiesta apparently under restoration in Worthing

Rover 414 saloon, looked nice, white, in Worthing

Fairly late (B-plate) SD1 Vanden Plas Vitesse, black and only a bit shabby, in Lewes

Mk 2 (J-plate) Scirocco parked outside my flat in Lewes

No pics of any of them.  Soz.

Just walked down the post office to get Dad's 80th card off (Happy Birthday Old Git) when my shite radar (well, ears, actually) detected a long-unheard flat twin.   Not just any flat-twin, though, this had the unmistakable sound of No Gears.

Looked round and there is some old Doris, nearly as old as me Dad, doing the Variomatic shuffle in a rather smart navy blue DAF 33.   Go, girl!
