Kiltox
They're pretty good money spinners to be fair. I reckon you could buy one for £1500 with a long MOT, work it for a month and do very well out of it, before selling it for what you paid.Given it's only been a week he has probably just driven it home and listed it though
Supernaut
I find it odd that the buyer would do that so soon after buying it. It's a fairly specialist vehicle, so people in the market for that sort of thing would probably remember it from a week or so ago, and will probably be thinking "hmm, it was cheaper back then." Then, he also didn't even go that far from the original location, so it'll just be seen by all the same people! At least take it a couple of hundred miles away before you do that! Kiltox
People do it constantly on these wanky Facebook groups - I've seen people move cars half a mile and relist without even taking more photos. 0ldCh0d
BavarianRetro
Wait a minute. He goes to Foadwerx, coughs up £1100, drives home, advertise it asking £1500. We all know, he's not going to get offered £1500 on Gumtree, but even if he does, taking into account whatever time, fuel, tax, insurance etc. he's had to pay, it's not exactly a business model that's going to have them terribly excited on Dragons Den. I'm out. 0ldCh0d and scruff
DodgyBastard
At least he took his own photos even if they are shit. It was funny, he mentioned a couple of times that he would need to travel for it so would prefer it to be ready to go, I said he could look at it before the wheel bearing was done because he kept pestering me to see if it was ready. When he came to see it I asked how far he had to travel?Edinburgh. Fuck? You fucking what mate? Edinburgh is half an hour away, I was expecting him to be coming from Aberdeen or the borders or somewhere far away. Approved manoeuvre is to relist using a phone screenshot of the previous persons pictures and description. Bonus points if it's a screenshot of a screenshot making the text unreadable. Lankytim
Fair play to him I guess, £1500 doesn't leave much room for negotiation before he's in danger of not even breaking even, or just making a few quid on the deal. Does anyone remember that guy over on RetroRides who lived in Manchester and bought a mega cheap Montego estate from Devon way, then tried to sell it on for a fat profit without collecting it from the sellers or even seeing it? He expected a buyer to go down, give the original seller the initial asking price then send a load more cash to him too. Needless to say he was rumbled instantly and think he left the forum with the amount of shit he was getting. DodgyBastard
He's a mobile mechanic and bought the truck to collect customers cars instead of paying someone else £50 a time for recovery. It's highly likely that after driving the fucking thing once that he's figured it's less hassle to let someone else do it for you.
