Time for me to clear a couple of things out, mainly as I’m going to be reducing my storage capacity over the next month as a motivator for me to not have a load of cars kicking about that rarely get used, particularly given some fundamental life changes I’ve made recently. Plus, I’m starting a new job which will mean even less time at home is going to result in me having significant less time than I already do to mess about with things.

I will grab some up to date pictures of all cars later today but for now I've just put on the odd pictures I've got of each.

First up is my current daily

2004 ‘04’ Seat Toledo 1.8T 20v

It’s been owned by a few members now (Mr Lobster, Trigger, Loserone, WilsonWilson) and then myself.

129k miles

MOT: April 2018

Full service history having just had its most recent service at 127k in May this year.

This car has wanted for nothing, only needing a steering rack gaiter for the MOT.

Runs and drives very well, currently has a mild re-map on it which has improved performance and economy, will return around 38mpg mixed which isn’t bad at all, it’ll exceed 40 on a decent run.

Good condition throughout with the exception of a small bump on the OSR corner (small dent/scrape)

All good Continental tyres, I’ve been considering replacing it as a daily for some time and to be quite honest I have struggled with what to buy, but I’ve now agreed a deal on an older Turbo barge for daily duties so now surplus to requirements.

£650

1995 ‘M’ Renault 19 RTi 1.4 - SOLD

MOT: May 2018

53k miles

Bought from bramz77 a couple of months ago, this has been ‘backup/alternative’ daily. Very good condition with the only point to note a very small rust bleb on the OSR arch.

It’s just breezed its MOT needing only a tyre, both fronts have been replaced. Recent service.

Only niggle really is that the driver’s door lock is temperamental (it rarely works) so car has to be unlocked from the passenger side, I have been intending to just swap the lock barrels over but haven’t had chance as yet.

SOLD

1996 ‘N’ Peugeot 106 1.5D - SOLD

MOT: July 2017

131k miles

The ex WW 106 that was raffled and won by Jazoli, I bought it from him as I’ve always had a soft spot for 106 dizzlers, this being my 4th 106 and 3rd diesel. I was going to use it as backup daily but I preferred the 19 really so it’s largely been unused.

It’s had 4 new tyres, quite a fair bit of recent service history including a timing belt change at 110k. I’m just looking to get back what I’ve got in this one to be fair, she runs and drives really well.

SOLD

That’s it for now, although I will be soon advertising my 2000 Mercedes S320 Auto, 2005 BMW 525d Auto, 1978 Cortina 1.6 GL and 2002 Omega 2.6MV6, more details and pics soon but feel free to drop me a message if anybody has any interest in those too.

Buy it Joe to stop me from doing so!  I did mention to John how I'd quite fancy it.  Will see what the insurers say.  Based on recent form they're getting a bit snooty about classic insurableness.

Astute timing John, you're catching us all at a weak point after SF!

Rob - I need to come to London, I could bring the 19. FJ happily insure this.

You sod :-)

If Peter James will do a swap for the Safrane then I'll see.  I really, really shouldn't though as could do with the cash at the moment.

In the meantime, drink a few more of those 89p beers Joe...

So based on your comments at Shitefest, if you're getting rid of 7 cars that will leave room for 35 new ones.  Looking forward to the collection threads already.

Cheers for that!

Replying to that quote leads nicely on to informing everybody the 106 has been subject to a negotiation resulting in it leaving me but to be replaced by another car. Sorry to disappoint anybody who thought i might seriously consider fleet reduction. Watch this space ...

If anyone's thinking about this Toledo, just do it. Top car - the LS400 is better for breastfeeding in the back of (or I'm told by those who sit in the back whilst I drive), otherwise I'd still have it. Think I put those tyres on only 9k ago.

Apologies for the scrape John mentions, i'd not had much sleep....

Interesting.

This does mean you no longer will have a 106 D...

You like 106 D's, don't you, John?

We don't like self restraint in this thread, Rob!

For anybody else interested I am keen on cash sales for everything I'm selling up but I would possibly consider a cheaper part ex (shock horror!!), whilst it's far from

Ideal in terms of me reducing storage, try me, I can only say no...

I drove the 19 home from Reading so have done a couple of hundred miles in it.  As a 19 owner myself I can very much recommend them, that can't be anything that size before or since that compares for comfort.  This one obviously feels more modern than my old girl having PAS and fuel injection, in fact as a usable daily car it's hard to see how Renault have bettered it since.  After more than 200 miles of much sitting in traffic at least I had something nice and squishy to endure it in.  The injected Energy really shifts as well.

Whoever buys it won't be disappointed.

Also, that Toledo is a bloody bargain at what he's asking.
