Wheeler Dealers - New series

£4600 very strong money for a Spitfire, I suspect some, ahem, playing to the camera there..I reckon they paid about £500 over the odds when they bought it. Brewer is now heading towards Jason Dawe porcinity levels, and he's a bigger twonk than ever

The Brewster with his irritating cock-er-nee cheerfullness and odd turn of phrase leaves me with Brewer's Droop but the Chinaman is more acceptable when he's not bolting a K&N to everything that sucks-suprised he hasn't fitted one to the Brewer. Interesting to see how square he looked when he first appeared on Deals on Wheels.

Obviously its more about making the show than making a profit-its still cheap television and if an old crock of shit gets a second stab at life then thats a good thing surely? does it not make a refreshing change from the Top Gear 'its old so we'll smash it up coz we are so zany' attitude?

The buyers do look like bell-ends though, I recorded the BMW 325 episode and the buyer is obsessed with something in the front grill like a crack junky looking for a hidden wrap coz thats all he's seen looking at..for ages.

I have to admit my favourite episode is the one where he buys the Suzuki SJ, gets it all shiny and then finds out the rear suspension mounting is less metal, more thin air so has to sell it 'for off-road only'.All the time I'm shouting at the telly "HA! Take that Brewer! Not so fugging clever now are you?"

The Brewer is a massive knob-end, and seeing him "lose" money makes me chuckle every time.I think it's been mentioned on here before, the figures are all bollocks anyway, apparently Mr China and his special friend (Paul?) work for nothing!!

I have it on good authority that it's Paul Brackley who actually does most of the work whilst Edd China just does the hand waving for the camera.

This show is such a load of toss I still watch it  The don't take any consideration of the amount of labour involved and some of the preparation (or lack of) beggars belief - the repainting of the MR2 with all of the mud still hanging off it comes to mind...

Why do people have a problem with that Mike Brewer bloke. He doesn't seem up himself or egocentric at all. I actually like watching this. The one I remember was when he bought an MR2 and found a suspiciously new front wing in a scrapyard. It was shiny red and there wasn't a scratch anywhere on it.Also when the 'mechanic' bloke (I think his hair's a bit too floppy to be a proper car mechanic tbh) sprays the car with a rattle can.

One word: Salesman. Sure he's not as irritating as say Gerri Haliwell but you look at how different he was in the early episodes of deals on wheels to what he's like now, I think he'd be more agreeable if he didn't play the happy chappy cocknee bloke so strong and for a salesman he seems to make some unwise choices unless its all just a front and he just comes across as a rotund bell-end just for the cameras. If I didn't have raging toothache and hadn't been made redundant this week I might've been a bit easier on the stout cock-stroker.

I remember Hirst telling me about all these "trade secrets" Brewer was sensationally lifting the lid on on his website, but they were just rubbishy things like "reel them in by offering them fifty pounds off and a bunch of flowers for the wife" so at least he`s not stupid enough to actually divulge anything of any worth to the masses.Perhaps it`s the same sort of thing with the program, he runs a car lot so maybe he isn`t so keen to show the R-reg 40,000 mile Civic he ambulance-chased off the son of an old boy who`d just gone into a home for £500, and sold that afternoon for 3 times that without even breaking out the cockpit shine. If I were him I`d be quite happy to make it look like I spend my life blowing my brains out pouring money into old rammle.

My wife's friend went on a blind date with Paul Brackley last year. Been sitting on that random fact waiting for the right moment :lol:I assume this is a new series - I haven't got round to watching the "European buys" series (DS etc) that my brother has helpfully Sky Plussed for me. Brewer's TV persona is, I'm sure, just as much of a caricature as Clarkson's is. But I suspect I will still prefer Series 1 when they didn't slap stick-on tat/K&Ns on everything.

Guest Tony Hayers

Saw the XJS episode this evening. Was it me or did those 'prospective' buyers seem fake or what?! As the credits rolled the blurb said that a new series is back on in the autumAlways wanted to see Brewer get his fingers burnt by buying a dodgy Sierra Cosworth :lol::lol:
