Glad to here it is running better and although there was no chance that the timming would of "jumped" it is possible to put the distributor in incorrectly as the gear that the dog on the bottom of the distributor goes into can be put in incorrectly but I think it could only of happened when the head had been off (if ever) They aren't that bad to work on and once set up will normally stay in tune much better than any of the comparable British offerings.

Glad it's been an eventually positive outcome. You've certainly got more patience and determination than I'll ever have man, apart from when it comes to responding to folk eager to 'help'.

Bigger main jets for both barrels. Period HBOL’s used to give jet sizes so those of a 1500 Alfasud would be a good starting point.

Fuck everything.

I managed to obtain an original inlet fannymould, carby and aerofilter!
The invaluable help in this matter by fellow Shiter Frogchod cannot possibly be hyped enough!

Thank you so much buddy, I'll never be able to make up for this in my miserable shitty little life.

If I were an Arab Sheik, or a parasitic psychopath like Jeff Bezos, I'd send you a fucking camel!

I now got all the necessary bits to restore the R16 to original inlet specs underway.

Of course it's now running way too sweetly to justify that expenditure in any way.

No problem to help out.

Please DO NOT send camels.

A pristine 1973 DS Pallas auto will suffice :)
