I do actually like this car quite a lot but I'm some sort of glutton for punishment and want to sell this totally reliable, comfortable, never failed to start and has done everything I've asked of it vehicle and buy another Land Rover Discovery.

I know, it's a sickness and I must attend a meeting for it soon.

So here it is, A  1997 Ford Explorer 4.0. It's the SOHC engine meaning 207hp so it does shift when you boot it. It's pretty tidy looking thing with a few little scuffs but no dents or dings that I've noticed.

Mot'ed till Feb next year, the only advisory was low brake pads on the rear but I disagree with that, they've still got some meat on them but there is also a new set in the boot.

Inside is typical Yank 4x4, big & comfy, electric everything and it all works, drivers window has a sticky switch but still works fine. Drivers seat has some glue or something on it (pictured) it's not bad but worth mentioning. It is cavernous in the back with the seats down, I put a double mattress in it flat so potentially gr9 for Shitefest.

I changed the engine oil and filter yesterday and I'm going to do the transfer box and gearbox oils in the next few days. No issue with it they are just due to be changed and I pretty fastidious with that sort of thing

Piccy time......

I'd like somewhere near £800 for it and I'm in Wells next the Sea, North Norfolk.

Aircon and climate control working?

Any timing chain noise at all?

Would that seat clean up ok do you think?

Ta

Aircon etc work fine, blows nice and cold, not noticed any noise from the timing chain and the seat probably would clean up nicely, I've just not bothered as I can't see it when I'm sat in it

No no no, moved that one on years ago, and it was black. Very good car though, went like shit, comfy, handled quite well and room for a dozen dead hookers and a shovel in the back. I was paranoid over the timing chain rattle mine had so went back to an inferior LR product where I can relax with lesser issues such as engine block failure, rampant corrosion, etc.
