Rocket88
Citreon BX gti 16valve [m16 engine] 160bhp, 31k miles [yes really!] as good as you'll find, too fast for me.......Jersey registered, £895. pics when I can get them loaded.
VWPowered
sounds great that, too far from me though..
Betaphile
I've driven a couple of these and reckon they're brilliant. Remember standing on the loud pedal for the first time and being seriously impressed - they really shift, especially considering their age now. Rest of the dynamic package is up to the mark too - good handling and brakes, I recall. I also remember noting the build quality of both examples I tried was so far ahead of something like a 205 GTi it was embarrassing (not that this is saying very much, but the BXs I drove had held together decently well for an '80s Frenchie). dollywobbler
People might be laughing at "bit quick for me" but as a previous owner of one, I fully understand! Once they hit 4000rpm, things get very blurry! Last one almost cost me my licence, so I'll have to politely refuse. Sounds superb for the money though! shite_meister
Ta ever so, as I was made redundant today I am stuck for the readies at mo so unless I can sell one of my fleet/kidneys/missus I won't be the proud owner of this fine garlic transportation device. Thanks for letting me have a go though, you've ticked one of my 'would like to drive' boxes and if I could raise the funds then I would be beating a path to LHM heaven unless you take installments! HI M8 HOW MUCH 4 UR M3 CASH?Seriously, redunancy officially sucks ass (I was made redundant twice in 13 months). In the UK you are instantly demoted to some kind of 'pleb', just an NI number and a signature, & endless hassle just to keep your NI contributions up to date (and get your paltry £60 a week loser money). If it's a 'ripple effect' of all this economic shite, then at least take comfort things ARE getting better out there...

Buy it so I can save Col's BX from getting raped of its engine. Being made redundant twice in one year?-ouch! In the past I've always landed on my feet but this year has been crap for me, maybe my luck has run out big time. I must say that Colin kindly let me take it out for a spin today as Citroen's floaty suspension was one of the few automotive delights I had not yet tasted, Although its a 16v and thus 'my foot slipped officer' I was more interested in the ride quality than outright speed (When I turned 30 I seemed to aged about twenty extra years). I was driving out of Colin's lane and saw some horses on t'road so I used the middle peddle to brake....my teeth on the steering wheel and scare the living shit out of the horse/girl/me, WOW those brakes are weird, it was a great experience just to try something different and although the BX might be typically French in reliability and build quality I can totally see why these sold well, its that wonderfull old Citroen approach to car design.I've said it more than one but I would love that car! Guest
BX sounds fantastic, much as I hate to admit it, sounds awfully like it won't be gracing our roads for much longer, barely any market for such machines over here but some Citroen club type or THA DOCTA' will be all over it I'm sure.Sorry to hear of the employment situation SM, hope something comes along soon (I've got a coupleof days' worth of work needing done on my XR2 if you're desperate). I always said that if I got made redundant I'd buy a Bedford Rascal and a Bestplate machine then spend all my spare time leaving notes under windscreen wipers trying to drum up some trade, but realistically trying to scratch a living off various forum members doing repro original stuff while writing to classic car magazines expressing disgust at their featured cars sporting modern numberplates
shite_meister
Cheers Craig/XR, I had through choice a Rascal for my luxuary executive management company car at my last job, it drank more fuel than something that drank lots and every morning Geoff Capes would accompany me to work* so that I could get the van into second gear using help from the bearded one.mmmmmmm Rascal, I really need one. * a lie. My main concern with the Citroen is as mention its future or rather the lack of it, I hate the idea that it might end up in some ball-bags Pug 205. I am trying to do all I can to secure it but what with todays news that ain't easy! Autoshite Tours Anyone?
dollywobbler
If I can actually flog one of my motors (many nibbles but no biting yet) I may well be very tempted to risk my licence again. It's an insane car for the money - and one of our sister titles is Performance French Car...Going on holiday at the weekend though, so I certainly couldn't take it soon.
