RichardK
Serious irrational want for this. Irrational because saloon, but my dad had hatch and estate ones in the '80s. Hopefully it can avoid a desperate VW pineapple-type fate. Uncle Jimmy

trigger
I'm confused, its a Santana but badged as a Passat? Were all late Santanas badged as Pissrats? Dick Longbridge
Coprolalia
Face-lifted in 1985, after that the Santana just became a Passat. Must be pretty rare, as the saloon Passat-badged B2 was only made from 1985-88, and Santana saloons aren't that common. This is absolutely bloody lovely. Cavcraft
This really should be some sort of 'reverse auction' and therefore offer £100 with the promise it'll be re-advertised for at least 5.5 times that the moment I get home. Grundig
Bonus Item included in the sale, I was going to put this in the Passat but never got round to it, I don't know what make it is ( box states that it was made in Japan) "Fits all cars" Six wheel ELF Tyrrell ?? Dirk Diggler
Maybe I'm just stupid because I'm not particularly young anymore; Where did radios used to go if that box feels the need to proclaim '....custom built in look'?
Tamworthbay
Maybe I'm just stupid because I'm not particularly young anymore;Where did radios used to go if that box feels the need to proclaim '....custom built in look'?They fitted behind the dash with the controls left and right coming through and a small letter box poking out the middle, as opposed to the full din size with optional cut out by blind idiot with a butter knife surround. Shep Shepherd
Got to be worth at least £500. I hope it goes to a proper enthusiast, as opposed to a pineappler. trigger and Barry Cade
Alusilber
the full din size with optional cut out by blind idiot with a butter knife surround.Funny you should say that, that's exactly what the radio installation on my dad's Marina looked like... Skizzer
Stereo and Passat are both very fabulous. I'm puzzled by the stereo box artwork: I know Formula One has changed a lot but did the Tyrrell six-wheeler really have a no-brand Japanese radio/cassette fitted? stripped fred
It's quite a powerful stereo isn't it, 25w x 25w = 625w! Skizzer and Jim Bell
themildbunch
My friend had the hatch of one of these... lovely torquey motor compared to my 1.6 BX at the time... he'd always be able to get up hills in 3rd where I'd be racing in 2nd... Carb used to freeze fairly regularly in cold weather... remember waiting for it to unfreeze on the way to Ikea Birmingham.
pandamonium
I promised myself no long journeys for my next car! How about £600 + my 1987 Mazda 121? RichardK, DodgyBastard and Jim Bell
