This recently purchased crate arrived during my lunch hour....post-4673-0-36965700-1493137217_thumb.jpg

First impressions good, very tidy, original paint, starts stops and goes well. It's had 5 former keepers and like most ageing cars at a trough in the price curve, the service stamps have petered out and it's been a bit neglected of late. It's the 190 so it has the kv6 188bhp tune and a manual gearbox . It pulls well up through the rev range so I'm assuming the variable intake system motors are doing their thing, and the gear change and clutch feel ok ( they decided to put master and slave cylinders in tricky places so I'm relieved) If anything it starts to run cool on long downhill sections of road so I suspect the thermostat maybe a bit tired. It's buried under various things in the vee of the engine, just to add a bit of interest to proceedings, and the belt history is unclear. So the plan is for now maybe to give it a simple service and change the thermostat and bury my head in the sand. I may get the belts done later in the summer if I get attached to it.post-4673-0-40531700-1493137818_thumb.jpg

Lovely old things. The noise of the V6 can be a bit addictive.

Did the thermostat on my old one. Can be done without removing the inlet manifold, but don't just buy the 'stat. There is a plastic pipe in the Vee that almost always breaks when removed from the stat so have a new one on hand.

Nice car. KV6 2.5 you say? I have driven one of these in auto form and liked it. Just can't afford it. Plus I still have my own KV6 Sterling.

Firstly its bugging me I can't work out your previous username, ItalianJob ? Or was it Essex something?

brook, then ItalianJob, then Essex man and now Hmc.

If you click on a username, on the left hand side in the members page there is a 'username history' bit. I still sometimes refer to older members by their first username.
