uk_senator
Oh, while we're on the subject, if you put an X1/9 on a trailer backwards, the roof dissapears...A technique later adopted by MX5 owners while going forwards.

Mrs6C
Is that three Gammas now here? Must be a fair percentage of those still left in the UK! Skizzer
BorniteIdentity
Skizzer doesn’t like to talk about his much. Weird that. (!) I reckon that most of the surviving population must now be on here; something that should be right at the top of the AS Curriculum Vitae. chaseracer, Mrs6C and Skizzer

Skizzer
WP_20180730_17_34_07_Pro.jpgI have just realised that I have recently bought the other gold gamma Coupe (shown in one of your pictures) from Kevin in Eltham. Note rampant rust on wheelarch and c pillar! That’s a hell of a first post. Welcome to Autoshite. Are you new to the delights of Gamma ownership too? Mine is actually in my good books today: Dermist (occasional poster and serial Lancia owner, including my old barn-found Dedra) and his mate Greg (an Escort/Cortina man but otherwise sound) came over last weekend to do a bit of car fettling, and did a bunch of diagnostic work ont the Gamma. Long story short, my replacing the ignition module has restored sparkage but lthe cold start injector was leaking, various contacts were very dirty and the fuel is horribly stale. We siphoned off some fuel with a Pela pump (that’s Jeep PSF at the bottom but it’s still yucky)... ...and put a can of fresh petrol in but, with the cold start injector isolated from the fuel supply to stop it pissing petrol everywhere, it was still no go. We did a compression test and that was fine, and we got a bit of a cough on EasyStart so figured the timing was fine and it hadn’t lunched any valves. I didn’t think this was likely but various Lancia types said ‘ooh, Gamma, that’ll be the belts then.’ I tracked down a replacement injector on German eBay (about 65 Eurobucks secondhand, it’s about the only variant Bosch doesn’t still stock OF COURSE) and fitted it today. IT RUNS! Well sort of - it runs like shit for about 10 seconds then stalls but that’s the stale petrol. I can easily sort that out. There’s a video but it’s a pain to upload so here’s a still of me concentrating extra hard, or possibly swearing. More updates next weekend, hopefully.
