dollywobbler
The big worry is the ABS, but the exhaust is leaking, the washers don't work, the fog lights don't work and I reckon another section of fuel line has started to seep. Oh, and it still needs a lambda sensor. In other words, it isn't going to breeze it. It is firmly a project. Or a breaker. Probably a grand in it in bits. Also, picnic tables. dollywobbler
I should add that those in the south of England may be able to benefit from free travel. In an XK150. Offer stands Sunday/Monday (I'm probably going to break up the trip home, Monday will see me return the XK150 to Bridgnorth, from whence the service will become a Tin Snail special). Arthur Foxhake
I would love to give it a home but I am still welding up my Transit on the road outside my house. My neighbours may just flip if I bring another tinworm infected relic of the days of yore back. Best bet is send me beer if you really struggle with it, I buy anything when I'm drunk. Six-cylinder, dollywobbler, oldcars and 2 others

dollywobbler
I may well be open to cheeky offers on this, as it needs to go before the MOT expires on 7th June.

gadgetgricey
Nope. It just makes it past Chester... New owner does live in Glasgow, but Chester is when the fuel pump relay will blow again. dollywobbler
I bought it, I drove it home, I got angry with it, it got taken away. Sold for £300, so could be worse. An enjoyable collection caper, but not a good car. In fact, about what you'd expect for a £350 XJ40 these days... 320touring
In its defense though, it did have (sometimes) working seatbelt buckles, and an intact headgasket;) dollywobbler and richardthestag

dollywobbler
and fucking picnic tables Indeed! A major selling point I reckon. It'll be getting broken for spares and I'm forced to concede, that's probably wise. I'm saddened that it didn't work out, but it certainly has me interested in XJ40s as a whole. So interested I bought a Bluebird... barefoot and richardthestag
BavarianRetro
Not inconsiderable numbers of E38 punters, not happy at having to pay £500 upwards for proper E38 picnic tables, are buying XJ40 ones and "No More Nails". Dave_Q and Ohdearme

dollywobbler
Hey, remember this ridiculous episode? Well, can't remember if I said elsewhere, but a chap from Simply Performance told me they'd rebuilt the diff from this car, and it's now in an AC Cobra replica. So, unsurprisingly, the car is dead, but bits of it live on. I think that's nice. I hope the Cobra also has unexpected picnic tables. Broadsword
Ha, that is quite random and fun really. I guess this episode scared you off further Jag purchases for a good long while?

Yeah, pretty much. I just can't stomach the running costs. Rover is little better on fuel, but (touching LOTS of timber) generally works and bits for it are not eye-wateringly expensive.
