I’ll start by apologising as I know it is bad form to advertise a car with one’s first post (although I’ve been lurking on here for many years).  However, as this car was acquired through these pages from CMS206, I thought it fair to offer on here again before elsewhere.

In summary: 1986 Peugeot 205 GRD in Antelope beige, MOT  until 17th August.  193907 miles.  I’ve added 1750 miles since December with no hint of a FTP; I’d trust it to get the buyer anywhere they want to go.

The following link is the original thread, including Craig The Princess’s exploits in getting it back from Glasgow to Norfolk behind our LDV!

http://autoshite.com...for-sale-£250/

Most of what was true then is still true now.  Loads of history, including records of every penny spent from 1990 – 2012.  Cambelt replaced in 2015.  Recent alternator.  Oil & filter change when I got it in December.  The brake pads and discs which came with it have been fitted.  Fuel filter bought but not fitted (warning light comes on intermittently).

The wing has been painted and most of the other scabby bits tidied up a bit (not my best effort though).  The heater blower was both seized and its switch not working when I acquired the car.  I’ve fitted a toggle switch and freed the motor off and whilst it now works it sounds decidedly unhappy (useful if you want to drown out conversations).  Heated rear window doesn’t work (connector broken on one side).

A couple of new issues have appeared in my ownership.  The main beam switch now fails to permanently engage more often than not, and the offside CV joint is clicking on lock.

Price £250.  Location: 5 miles from Wisbech on the Norfolk/Cambridgeshire border

Reason for sale; these are back on the road :-D

I think you should keep this, and instead sell me the Allegro estate. For £250.

Thanks to all for the positive comments.

My heart says that I should indeed keep the Peugeot to use next winter, but my head is currently winning!  Given that it has returned almost exactly 50mpg, viewed over a period of a few years your offer actually makes financial sense.  But the answer's still no!

And just in case my user name seems pretentious, there is also this...

This has to be the nicest smelling car I've ever driven. Don't know what Andy used in at but it smells like an expensive shower gel.

From memory it was a 50:50 mix of G101 and boiling water through an Autosmart Vortex machine. It was fucking RANK before.

Should never have sold it but SWMBO HATED it and I just wasn't using it. It would carry an SVM APPROVED USED if I had any. Awesome little car.

The post I made on Thursday which gof lost in the great Autoshite wobble of April 2017 went something like this...

I'm sure it's only a matter of time before you give in and buy an Allegro Trigger.  You probably don't remember (plus you wouldn't know who I was) chatting with me about the series 1 1500 special I was selling at the BL autumn rally in Milton Keynes last year.  I should do a proper intro somewhere, but here are a couple more photos to be going on with (aplogies for lack of photographic skills)

Yes, the 205 is still for sale.  Now advertised for somewhat more on CarandClassic/Gumtree, but still available at £250 for anyone on here.

Unfortunately not.  Quartic wheels were never fitted to the estates (quartics ceased being fitted in March '75, estate was launched June '75)
