RobT
Despite the weather being a bit rubbish, today was a good season opener for us southern nancies with a predilection for BMC/BL tat. I'll start off with some oldies. This was oily rag, and all the better for it. Some 50s stuff. Magnettes make me swoon, wish I could afford one. Two young women all dolled up in 50s garb in a Somerset. It's always good to see young 'uns driving old rammel. Morris J2 (?) vulgalour
Looks like the weather was rotten, as usual. Seems fitting that the weather is always horrible for this event, somehow.
mercrocker
Had too much else on this weekend otherwise I would have taken the Cowley up again......Great pics, that is indeed a J2 and all the more desirable for those wipers. It's always a good day out and the only time I went when it was dry it was f....ing freezing.
RobT
Not one for the purists, but looked flippin' great I reckon. !! START YOU VICIOUS BASTARD! Etc...Bet he hears that all the time. I think this 3 litre is local to dollywobbler, judging by the window stickers. Kudos for coming such a long way, but I suppose this thing eats the miles with ease. This white one set off childhood memories. Ours was PMV 654R, long since gone. Notable for our Border Collie doing a massive shit on the back seats on a very hot day, and Dad hosing them down when back home. Praise the lord for vinyl! Marina for sale. £2.5k. Another one for the tut tut brigade. Skizzer, inconsistant, anonymous user and 7 others
RobT
Weapons grade wedge. The last one built apparently and rescued from the frag. This was one of my favourites today. Truly shite. I wouldn't be surprised if the same guy owns this and a Metro 1.3S that used to turn up here - both have matt paint, but look solid enough. Now some Metros Mintola Knightsbridge with Chinese Garage dealer plates, which used to be a BL garage near me in Beckenham. Similarly minty Rover 114 CVT Mine next to another miniMetro in hearing aid beige. Owner was a bloody nice bloke too. Nearly forgot the giffer in his lone Montego. Am glad he's still got it as he hasn't attended this last few years. And the car I wanted to take home with me was this Wolseley . Just looked right in a tidy but used condition. RobT
One more batch and I'm done. Some random rammel Brooklands have lying about. Snow blower thing Finally to finish, a piccie for Cavcraft. No little white dogs to be seen though... saucedoctor, vulgalour, Lord Sterling and 7 others
Ghosty
That red Ambassador belongs to someone on here iirc, I remember them posting about recomissioning it after it languished on a drive for ages, seeing as the Heritage Motor Centre weren't arsed about it. edit: here it is: http://autoshite.com/topic/24442-the-last-ambassador-its-ours Seems to have got a better bonnet since the last update. vulgalour
Does the BOAC bus have the windscreen from another bus put in upside down for the top deck? That satin Ital looks right, even on those wheel trims, and it really shouldn't. saucedoctor and chaseracer
Inspector Morose
The BOAC bus is a MCW bodied Atlantean. It's a copy of an Alexander body style. The upper deck window is the same one used as the rear window in Alexander's single deck bodies. vulgalour
wuvvum
Nice. Love the shot of the giffer in his Montego trundling past the Trident (?). RobT
meshking
That's a vickers vc10 fuselage section I think.
