uk_senator
My old Senator shortly before I stripped it (was too rotten), ran perfectly, mechanically all original, never even had HGF:Also had a Carlton 3.0 manual estate that had done about 220k when I sold it on (again, excessive rustage), was still capable of 150mph. My brothers 2012 500 Abarth (driving school car), main oily bits all original including turbo & box, head never been off:My Escorts done 150k, which, for an all original CVH, isnt bad.. Jerzy Woking
My sister has a Getz (an 09 model though) which I have borrowed a few times. It as a slightly higher cruising speed than my 954cc AX, but the seats aren't as comfortable. Much as I like the AX for round town trips, if the weather gets as bad as the forecasts say, it will be pressed into 600 miles per week commuting when too dicey to use the scooter, which I'm not sure I will "enjoy", despite the excellent heater. SiC
I suppose I should put my highest mileage daily driver in here. Possibly too modern, but as it's young still, the annual mileage is possibly more than a lot of the higher, older examples on here. Also being a modern (German) diesel, it could be said it's remarkable it's not had any major engine malfunctions. A 2010 year Audi A4 Dirty Diesel. Will clock over to 164k today. I plan to continue to drive this until something expensive goes pop. ... Strictly speaking, even though I bought it, I've made it my wife's car and she's very much taken ownership of it. That way I am less inclined to getting rid of it - especially as I'm bored and don't really like it already. uk_senator and Jerzy Woking

Norbert
Memberships available, did someone say? Hey hey 200k! (90k of that's with me in the last 4 years). Pug 206 1.4 HDi. Happy Mile-day Pug. Certainly agree that 200k is the new 100k – this is true as it now seems to be the point where all your mates and family suddenly start advising you of the urgent need to replace your car. According to them, <=199999 miles: 200000+ miles: Next milestones are 210000 (100k miles with me) and 220000 (More miles with me, than with all the previous owners put together). And I've got 10 months before the next appointment with the MoT man so that should be doable without hassle. Matt
Thats an ideal candidate for the Modern Shite section - Low Cost big liability thread. You'd have to have a good pore through the service history and ask why the company was selling it before you could claim that I reckon. I would argue that generally unreliable cars don't reach 400k miles let alone with one owner and it's just a basic Skoda so it's not like parts and labor would be 2005 Mercedes S600 levels of wallet punishment. I suppose it's possible that it's been unreliable and the accountants haven't caught wind of the constant repair costs. That said if I was going to spend 4 grand on a modern it'd be something far less miserably specced. Other than Dacia is there any other car that just looks basic like this does? It's unpainted bumpers away from looking downright 90's in it's spec. Laseraligningfoofooflanges

Hendry
My old man had a Vectra which had done 232,000 miles by the time it was 7 and a half years old back in 2012 when it was traded in. Current taxi steed 2013 63 plate Mondeo - with 1.6 TDCI hand grenade engine - is on 100,000. Mine has just ticked over 156,000, 2009 Jetta with the 2.0TDI CR lump, still drives well but the whole car is rough and very tired. beko1987

Doctormop
Am I being very cynical re the Parks of Hamilton Skoda that photographing it sans registration number would put temptation in the way of a potential purchaser having the mileage corrected before it undergoes it's first MOT in a few weeks?Service History can be misplaced so Shirley it could lose 350k off the milometer and no one would be any the wiser. Nope! I also wondered why it had had its plates removed. Is it just me who thinks 4grand is a lot for a 409,000 mile base model Skoda, even if it is just turning 3 years old. If I was Park's however, id have it in their Skoda dealership as an advertising tool 'This Car Has Done Over 400,000 miles, Skoda reliability, look at the condition, etc.' Norbert
