The Omega I bought off JohnK at the end of Sept with 163K now has 171K on the clock. I am achieving 28 mpg as an average if I don't use it much around town at the weekend.  4.5 months to do 8K

I guess we'll be hitting 185K by Christmas.

My ex-jackytwoshoes BX Break has 247,500 on the odometer, but the speedo has been broken for a fair while. I've done at least 5500 miles since I bought it - I'm guessing the real mileage is about 265,000 but it feels like it's done about twice that

I part chopped my Orion with 43,000 on the clock many years ago. Only thing was that it was 143,000 and that didn't take into account the three years it hadn't worked in which I did 35-40000 miles. The guy was a real spiv type wheeler dealer who thought he was getting one over on me but I think he had a surprise when he started looking over the car after I had gone. At least I assume he did as it was in the paper the day I was chopping it in but every time I drove past (twice a day, to and from work) I never saw it on the bomb site.

The ex-GarethJ, ex-groovylee Octavia isn't too far off now, won't be long.  Alas as I'm changing jobs in a couple of months I probably won't be the one to see it to the 200,000 mark as it now technically belongs to my employer and will stay with them when I go, which is a shame.

And yes, the multifunction display is still borked.  Sorts itself out when it warms up, mind.

I had a few cars with high mileage, notably a Y reg 1600cc Escort estate that had done over 450,000. Used to get driven from London to Aberdeen and back each week for a while.

I have had a few bikes with high mileage (for a bike-most seem to do about 4,000 miles a year). GSX-R750 with 180,000 miles on it before destroyed in a crash. Fireblade with around 120,000 on it when sold (speedo used to work 20%of the time). GS500 with 100,000 on it before I ran it out of oil.

Currently have four bikes I rotate for my commute (20,000 a year) and highest mileage is on the CBR600 at just 70,000 miles. Loads to go as seen one with 310,000 miles on it.

The highest mileage car I've ever owned was that Audi 90 at 151000 miles but that's not that high really. I like looking at the car auction website and seeing what's going though with high or low mileages. this 4 year old Volvo has been busy with 338000 miles, It still looks like new too!.

Then on the other end of the scale you've got this 17000 mile ex-Lifeguard Navaro which has clearly spent the last 14 years under the sea.

The highest mileage I ever owned was this Subaru Legacy with 269.000km when I sold it.

Bought it with 223.000km two years before. It drove faultlessly. Of course some maintanence required, but

it never let me down, always started first time and got me where I wanted to go. Best car I ever had, I guess!

P.S.: That´s exactly the one that felt better built and better made than the far-more-expensive Cadillac SRX.

My 2cv is rather modest at about 117,000, but I remember the day it passed 100,000, driving around trying to catch the clock as it spun over. Definately didn't take a photo while driving! (or at 110K)

My previous moped Pedward was of unknown mileage as I owned it for 3 years and the speedo only worked for around a week of that. I don't know how long it was broken, but you know how fast you are going on a moped! I considered fixing it, but as the new cable lasted a week, and the bike had been a swap for a bottle of Jack Daniels, I didn't bother!

My old Uno that I owned between 1992 and 2001, took it from 70k to 234k before it finally needed too much spending for its MoT, still running sweetly until the end although a little smoky

I think that will take some beating. If that was me I'd be looking back, thinking about what might have been.

Isn't there a gent on here with a brace of Peugeot's heading over 400k?
