Sounds like it's probably one of those situations where if he could get a new car with insurance as part of the deal he'd actually be better off

Except for ANCAS, oh em gee lease spec reverse snobbery etc

£800 isn't that bad, tough to get out of an overdraft if you're a low earner tho

If I went £800 overdrawn now I'd be sweating and losing sleep!

Mind you I'm a tight bastard!

Up until a couple of years ago, I was regularly balls deep in my £1000 overdraft limit, never really bothered me until the bank started issuing charges even for agreed overdrafts, I strongly objected to being charged a £10 fee for using a facility they'd agreed upfront and got rid of it...it was tough going. Now I have the limit reduced to £100 and avoid using it like the plague

 

Credit card is a different story mind, I've been battling that since time immemorial, but, if things go according to plan I may finally be free of it next month, I think I'm down to about 200 quid on it now from £2500ish 12 months ago.

 

I'm just not great at telling myself no...
