Steve79
Sister in law wanted me to take this for MOT today, but i've advised against. Its not that the car is unreliable or ever fails to start or get her where she wants to go, but the clutch has juat started to slip and the bodywork is tired. I've told her to save her money and get a slightly less 'used' one. The facts:2000w Nissan micra 1.0 3dr celebration.Mot runs out today (14/02/2017) 96000 miles Regularly servicedOwned by her family since newDrives ok15inch alloys (very scuffed)Power steeringKeep fit windows and locksCam chain so no OMGBCB failure She's looking for about £100 Pm me if you are interested as she wants its gone asap. Longblackcoat
Clutch is only about £300, correct? Worth keeping, I'd have thought.
AlabamaShrimp
? Am I the only one thinking why not just change the clutch? Saying that it's very cheap and they're very good cars so....
Stanky
Keep it, get the work done. The parts are about £30 for a LUK one from ECP plus a bit of time. Also, +11 points for having the worlds biggest fuel gauge, so even the most visually-impaired OAP can still see it. On the basis of the size of the gauge I can only assume that the warning light is a giant 1w LED which can be seen from the ISS. Dick Longbridge
Sell it, and upgrade to a proper Micra. Eddie Honda
Lord Sterling
These are great. Ma's Micra is still going strong. She's had it since nearly new. If I had the spare money, I'd buy it for myself in all honesty.
Steve79
She drives it about once a week and she's pretty skint at moment. It would probably pass the mot with nominal work but its the slipping clutch which would push it over the financial precipice for her. I agree it could be fixed and kept, but its not my car and if she cant afford it then .....
