Yielded a hoard of Mini and ADO16-shaped shite:

Can't see much of it reappearing on the road, particuarly the F-prefix yellow Mini now used as a generator house!

However the custodian of these vehicles did have the following serviceable example outside his abode

That dark red one with the different rear lights & longer fins, is that a different model or just an earlier version?

Earlier ( Mk1 pointy fins )...and it's a Vanden Plas 1100 ( Leather interior and walnut everywhere )Worth a fortune to the Japanese apparently...

My first car was a white 1969 1300GT. I loved it.Great road holding - just like a Mini with an extra-wide track. I loved the period styling features on the GT - hub caps to rival anything the Japanese where producing at the time. Vinyl roof, black mesh grille, black side stripe. Great stuff.I spy two GTs there? Particularly like the one with it's belly in the leaf mold and a plastic sheet on the roof. Yeah, that'll help!

Do you still have this chap's contact details?

I ask because I'm after a replacement bumper for my "new" VDP. Although the over riders are wrong and the bumper looks a bit bent it looks to be the right (longer sides) one. Mine has been replaced with a Morris? one at some point. :-

Will check my e-mail and see if I've still got the "ask Ebay seller a question" correspondance - if not I'm sure I can track down the lad's mobile number from old phone bills :) Probably best remind me if I haven't done anything by this time next week :)

Got quite fond memories of 'Billy's' as 1100/1300s are known in the Banger racing world. when I was of a lad of about 13, we had a field behind where we lived that sort of unofficially became an extended back garden. It was there I learnt to drive in an estate version I bought off a bloke for the princely sum of £10.Another example I had, this time an 1100 beige saloon which I think was J registered & bought for £30, could be left all over the winter and she'd start up first time 8) Good pics anyway cheers for posting them.

Keef, the Vanden Plas had received a bit of a knock to the nearside rear and if I remember correctly it was actually an insurance write-off, however the lad may have been planning on getting it back up and running. Like the other ones it had sat for a while though judging by the mould on the panels and to be honest the site bore all the hallmarks of over-enthusiastic collecting that usually culminates in a bonanza for the nearest metal recyclers.

Yep, I know I might be barking up the wrong tree, or just plain barking! :-)Re the older guy in the other pic. Maybe the owner's Dad? ;-)

its so nice to see some of my old cars from when I had my barn. The Fiesta was poorly but that's why it was being broken....was a death trap.

I am 1100 made and I do have the hall marks of a nutter but i do/did actually return some of these cars back to the road.

The Orange GT was a Donor for the Red GT which was put back on the road last year.

The Grey Austin I still own, it did go back onto the road briefly but has sat waiting for a colour change for a year or so now. its the purple car in the picture below.

The Brown mini was a donor for my Green mini ive owned for 14 years which is road worthy

The VDP was sold on when i got rudely thrown out my barn and scrapped.

The yellow mini was bought to house the jenny....pretty cool i thought was £15 at the time lol the Jenny is a 3.5kva ex-army onan, Air cooled twin cylinder!

The Green (Blueish) MG was replaced by the GT last year following a colour change, here it is with my Magenta kit car.

finally the bottom picture is how my barn once looked with 3 out the 5 cars being returned to the road....can anyone tell what the 5 was!!!

I was wondering if it was that mystical automobile!

I thought they were theoretically available but never encountered one....

I don't believe they ever appeared in the books as being available. Seeming as this one is in a very odd colour combo, I suspect it was specially ordered.

My mum loved it, it gave it her in payment for paying for my wedding, it was also my wedding car from 10 years ago I have a pic somewhere.

She only sold it as she wanted to replace it with the GT she now has (which was also previously mine), I don't know many 60 year olds who have a GT as their daily driver, I've tried to tell her its worth a fortune but she insists on driving it like a nutter.
