Alright gang,

I bought this last weekend (for £300!!!!) But I am not really feeling it, theres no mega problems with it, but my back doesnt get on with the seats AT ALL and its not really 'me' TBH, I though it would make my commute more fun but I was wrong (prefer the auto box!!! Must be getting old) so I have swapped the insurance back on to my Gooner. I will take a small hit on it if that will help get a painless sale.

Its a 2001 Fiesta 1.25 Ghia, 86,000 miles, MOT till october. Drives well enough and I have been commuting in it all week without any bother, starts, runs, drives well with no knocking suspension, howling wheelbearings or clicky CV joints etc. Engine is the 1.25 screamer and it zips along much better than Mrs Crab's later 1,4 fiesta. Got a heated windscreen, electric mirrors, air con and whatnot.

On the downside, the EML is on (no idea why), Radio doesnt work, rear wiper is temperamental, rear arches are a bit crispy like they all are. It aint a minter but its not a crock either and I would say could be used immediately without any particular expense. Collection from Alfreton, Derbyshire. Could be up for a swap if it was something moderately interesting.

PM me or call O78OO 9O2396. Cheers

Odds on the rear wiper is the copper contacts being corroded, Ford used a daft copper pin and contact pad on the tailgate and frame, our old Fiesta was always having issues with it, worked fine for a while when you cleaned the contacts & pads

If its just the seats that are the problem, would a better set from a Mondeo, Scorpio or similar fit? Given that Ford loves to make everything common and compatible they are probably a bolt straight in job.

I reckon you need a Saab. They're a world better than the Laguna's. A petrol, auto Saab sounds like a perfect match. ;)

The seats fitted to those things caused me to develop debilitating sciatica when I ran a nearly new one as a company car. Dreadful cars.

Likewise the Focus.  I cannot think of another seat that caused me as much pain as the Focus.  When you think about how good the Mondeo was, how did that happen?

Anyway, back to the Fiesta.  These things handle like they are on rails and that 1.25 is a real sweetie.

This is so tempting. My r reg sad face mk4 is due a ticket early March. It needs back axel bushes an the lack of arsed is strong to do them.

Putting her to pasture round Brampton and running this till October could be a winner.

Let me speak to swmbo'd about it and the prospect of having a banger built on the drive. Wcpgw

I think my winning bidder is your usual ebay phantom bell end, 1 feedback, and I've not heard a squeak from him yet. His phone number is 07891 XXXXXX if anyone fancies giving him a prod. Name Jay Vaughn (not Johnny Vaughn off the Big Breakfast), lives in Teeside. to be fair I did say he needed to get in touch within 24hrs and that has not elapsed yet.

If he is elusive its actualy not the end of the world as the logbook has not materialised yet anyway. I contacted the PO on thursday and he said 'YH M8 SOZ, I ONLY SENT IT OFF YESTERDAY' (almost 2 weeks after I bought it off him, the useless shite) so it will probably arrive next week. It can have one more spin on the bay after which its probably cartakeback and i will have to lay off buying cars for a bit, £250 hits on shite are just not sustainable
