Bren
My sisters 03 plate focus tdci. 116k on the clock. MOT until mid Jan 2017. Timing belt done at 93 k. Four recent yokohama tyres and front struts fitted. Good bodywork save for a dent on drivers front wing - vandalism.Bonnet lock is knackered but can be opened with a screwdriver.Standard radio needs refitting to car. Why so cheap? Car cuts out intermittently - has faulty instrument panel, this could be the cause or it could be unrelated. Would suit somebody with access to a spares car.Apart from cutting out it drives nicely and engine is quiet. It is the 100 PS model. Far too good to scrap. £175 takes it away. Car is in Widnes. purplebargeken
The two are linked. There are companies out there that will sort it with a replacement instrument panel for a couple of hundred quid.
NorthernMonkey
Does anyone know if a panel from a 1999 1.8 petrol is the same? Got one in the yard that's going on a one way journey in the next few days and the instruments are probably the best thing on it....

twosmoke300
The instruments swap but the rev counter has the wrong red line
sierraman
Could be wrong but it's more serious than the fault with the speedo. Have you checked the pump? I'd be inclined to take the turbo, EGR, pump etc out then bale it, worth more as parts
Hendry
That looks too clean and rust free for a Focus to be scrapped surely, even the dent on the wing looks like the majority could be pushed out by hand, so new bonnet lock, instrument panel and hopefully that sorts out the cutting out, bargain!! Bren
I have been asked to put this on ebay today as my parents want their drive back. Bodily car is very good - I dont think it has been welded.

cobblers
Odds are just resoldering the connector and cleaning the pcb with alcohol and a fine scotchbrite would sort out the clocks and cutting out, I've done about half a dozen of them. Cavcraft
If you eBay it stick a link up, please. Is it worth a raffle on here, or too much faffing about?
SiC
How does the clocks not working cut the engine? I can't understand how Ford can design a ECU that requires comms with the clocks to continue to run.
sierraman
I'm not convinced the clocks relate to the cutting out. My money would be on the pump.

However once the car has started, they don't need comms still to stay running.
